Willamette Hall HVAC Upgrade in 100 and 100A 5/4/20 – 8/31/20

Update 8/31/2020: The work in room 100A is complete. The work in room 100 is still ongoing.

Update 6/2/2020: The HVAC upgrade to Willamette 100A is still underway and the upgrade in Willamette 100 will start on 6/16 and run through 7/30.

Building or Areas Impacted:  Willamette Hall Classroom 100 and AV room 100A

Scope:  This project involves upgrading the HVAC system in room 100A.

Services Impacted:

  • Construction activities involve minor demolition and construction related noise.
  • Electrical and HVAC services will be briefly disrupted to the Willamette 100 classroom zone.

Special Instructions:  Please shut down all multi-function copier devices as well as any printers during scheduled power outages. The software on these machines can be negatively affected due to the power surge when power is turned back on, a power surge can corrupt the clone files in the machines, and can change preconfigured settings.

Klamath Hall Emergency Domestic Hot Water Shutdown 4/29/20

UPDATE:  The issue has been resolved and the hot water has been restored.

Building or Area Impacted:  Klamath Hall

Scope:  Emergency shutdown of the domestic hot water.  This is due to a faulty control actuator on the steam supply that goes to the hot water heater.

Services Impacted:  Restrooms, potable water faucets in the building, custodial closets.

Extra Notes:   We will send out an update when we have more information as to the expected completion date.

Clean Steam Shutdown 5/1/20

UPDATE:  The shutdown has been adjusted to run from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm to allow time for a contractor to repair a separate steam leak.

Buildings Impacted:  Cascade Annex, Columbia Hall, Huestis Hall, Klamath Hall, Lewis Integrative Science Building (LISB), Onyx Bridge, Pacific Hall, Streisinger Hall, University Health, Counseling, and Testing Center, Volcanology, Willamette Hall, and ZIRC

Scope:  Emergency shutdown of the Autoclave Clean Steam in order to repair a compressed air leak on the Clean Steam Generator.

Services Impacted:  Clean steam will be unavailable, however treated steam will be provided during this time.

Klamath Hall 2nd Floor Electrical Shutdown 5/1/20

Scope: The Klamath level 2 renovation requires power revisions to the existing electrical bus-duct which powers systems on level 2.

Services Impacted: Lighting and electrical power.

  • Not all spaces on level 2 will be impacted the same. (See diagram below)
  • Temporary power will be provided to critical equipment in the shaded green sections during this time.

Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art Roof Project and Parking Lot #25 Closure 7/6/20 – 9/4/20

Begin: Saturday, July 6th, 2020

End: Friday, September 4th, 2020

Building or Area Impacted: Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art roof and East parking lot.

Scope: The reroofing project is being scheduled for a July start and will take approximately 2 months.

Services Impacted:

  • The roof will be dried in every day and so will be watertight overnight.
  • Access will be maintained at all entrances, including the service entrance on the east side.
  • Workers will access the roof through an exterior temporary stair tower and will not go through the museum.
  • Parking Lot 25 will be closed due to the roofing equipment staging.

LISB Rooms 174 and 175 Renovation Advisory 4/27/20 – 9/11/20

UPDATE 8/31: This project is wrapping up with commissioning and testing and will be complete by September 11.

UPDATE 8/5/20: The project is still underway and the completion date has been extended to 8/31/2020.

Building or Areas Impacted:  Lewis Integrative Science Building (LISB) Rooms 174 and 175

Scope:  Demolition will start in rooms 174 and 175 in the LCNI suite for the construction of a new MRI bay.

Services Impacted:

  • Moderate noise may be experienced in rooms 153, 175, 176, 177 & potentially the 2nd floor rooms above the 174 space.
  • Vibration to the structure is not anticipated as a result of this work.

North Campus Temporary Closure of Railroad Bridge Throughway and Safety Advisory

The new parking structure under construction on Millrace Dr. requires temporary closure of the throughway under the railroad bridge. Bikes and pedestrians are being detoured along the gravel road by the greenhouse to connect with Gallery Way.

There have been reports of close calls between bikes and vehicles at the intersection circled below. If you drive in this area, please anticipate more bike and pedestrian traffic, in both directions, and adjust your driving accordingly. Thank you!

Campus Radio System Outage 4/8/2020

Begin:  Wednesday, April 8th, 2020 at 5:00 pm

End:      Wednesday, April 8th, 2020 at 6:00 pm

Area Impacted:  All of Campus

Scope:  The campus digital radio system is going to be down for 30+ minutes for system updates.

Services Impacted:

  • The system update requires three (3) reboots that take 2-3 minutes each for the radio system to be back on the air.
  • During this time the campus digital radio system will be unstable and not available for use.
  • The radios will display (Out of Range) during the outage.
  • This outage will not affect the UOPD radio channels or the Autzen repeater used by athletics.

Extra Notes:  I’m not expecting a long outage with this update all work will be in the maintenance window listed above.

HEDCO 230A Construction Advisory 4/3/20 – 6/12/20

Extra Notes:  Users can expect to hear normal and occasional construction noises such as hammering and drilling, as well as, the installers entering/exiting the building with tools and materials during normal business hours.
