Scope:   The lab vacuums will be shut down to allow a contractor to perform preventive maintenance on the vacuum pumps and the lab air compressor system located in the penthouse at Klamath Hall.  It is necessary to take these systems offline while the contractor is servicing the vacuum pumps and air compressor.

Services Impacted:  This will affect all rooms and equipment connected to the building vacuum systems in Lewis Integrative Science Building, Klamath Hall, Lokey Labs, Pacific Hall, Huestis Hall, and the lab air compressor at Klamath Hall.

2/07/24 PeaceHealth North Building Fire Panel and Devices Testing plus Noise Advisory

From PeaceHealth Facilities:

On Wednesday 2/7/2024 we will conduct our required annual testing of our fire panel and devices including testing the six elevators (4 in the South building and 2 in the North building) for fire recall.

We will start in the North building at 7:00 pm for an estimated 1-1/2 hours, then move to the South building around 8:30 pm with an estimated completion time of 10:30 pm.

There will be an unknown, but hopefully short period of time, that we will test the audio, strobe, door holders, etc. It will be very loud during this time and hearing protection is recommended. I have ear plugs if anybody would like me to bring some by.

Nobody needs to evacuate the building during this testing.

UPDATE 1/26/24:
The repairs are complete and steam has been restored.

The contractors will be cutting and welding the pipes during the steam outage today.  Occupants may experience a slight smoke smell during this activity.

1/25/24 and 2/08/24 Huestis Hall Basement Domestic and Industrial Water Shutdown

UPDATE 2/06/24:
The valves for this shutdown have arrived, however the contractor has additional prep work to perform prior to the shutdown that was unforeseen.  This shutdown will occur on Thursday, February 8th from 7:00 am – 1:30 pm.

 

UPDATE 1/31/24:
The domestic water valves have arrived.  Work will take place on Wednesday, February 7th, from 7:00 am to 1:30 pm.
– Domestic hot and cold water will be offline.
– Restroom and handwashing sink fixtures will not be available during this outage.

 

UPDATE 1/23/24:
Delivery of the domestic water valves is delayed. Tomorrow’s shutdown for January 24th will be rescheduled for a later date.  A new shutdown notice will be distributed.

The project is proceeding with the Thursday, January 25th  industrial water shutdown from 7:00 am – 1:30 pm.   However, the shutdown affects industrial hot water only. There are no anticipated impacts to RO generation and therefore, the bypass is not necessary.

UPDATE 2/27/24:
Additional testing of the Huestis Hall electrical transfer switches is scheduled for Monday, March 4th,  and Tuesday, March 5th.

  • Huestis Hall – There may be a brief power outage as the normal power transitions to standby power source. Contractors will provide temporary panels connections for critical loads in the basement. No impacts to every day functions is anticipated.
