Scope:   Domestic water will be shut down to relocate the building’s water and fire service shutoff valves into the tunnel.  This is needed to avoid conflict with the current Heritage Project’s demo and build back activities.

Services Impacted:  This will affect domestic hot and cold water service for the listed buildings in all sinks, restrooms, and drinking fountains.

Special Instructions:  Fire sprinkler systems will be shut down in University Hall, Villard Hall, and Miller Theatre.  These will be monitored by Fortis Construction.

Details:  Horns, Strobes, and Speakers on the fire alarm system will not sound after the scheduled time. Scope:  Fire flow testing will take place at University Hall. This will be a short duration shutdown (under 1 hour) and won’t need the water valve shut off,  but it will steal all of the water pressure supply of the other buildings mentioned, when they are performing the flow test.

Services Impacted:  Water to entire buildings (listed above) will have reduced flow for a short period of time.

2nd Day:           Friday, January 12, 2024, from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Huestis Hall and Lokey Labs

Scope:

  • Huestis Hall: On Tuesday 1/9 and again on Friday 1/12 from 7:00 am – 4:00 pm, air and exhaust systems will be offline in the basement as the temporary AHU and exhaust fans are removed and final connections to building AHU units and lab exhaust fans are reconnected. User access to Huestis rooms 6, 12 and 13 should be limited or avoided during this shutdown.
  • Lokey Labs and Huestis Hall:  On Tuesday, 1/9 from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm, the fire alarm system will be offline to Huestis and Lokey Labs during this shutdown. Contractor will provide fire watch.

Services Impacted:  This will affect exhaust, fire alarm systems, fume hoods, heating, cooling, and the HVAC air supply.  Fume hood sashes should be closed and containers within the fume hoods sealed prior to this date.

Details:  Horns, Strobes, and Speakers on the fire alarm system will not sound after the scheduled time. Services Impacted:  The fire sprinkler system will be offline for the Human Physiology Tenant Improvement, NW corner of lower level of Hayward Field (Wet Zone 4).

Extra Notes:  Harvey & Price is coordinating their work with IES for alarm support.

Hayward Field Wet Zone 4 Fire Sprinkler System Shutdown 6/2/21

Building(s) or Area(s) Impacted:  Hayward Field Wet Zone 4

Scope:  Harvey & Price will be installing fire sprinkler piping and heads in open ceiling areas under FCUs and raise a head in the Environmental Chamber within the Human Physiology Tenant Improvement area.

Services Impacted:  The fire sprinkler system will be offline for the Human Physiology Tenant Improvement, NW corner of lower level of Hayward Field (Wet Zone 4).

Extra Notes:  Harvey & Price is coordinating their work with IES for alarm support.

Special Instructions: Horns, Strobes, and Speakers on the fire alarm system will not sound after the scheduled time. Provisions have been taken to monitor the building fire systems during this time and alarms that occur after the scheduled time should be considered real events and occupants should evacuate as usual per the U of O Emergency Procedures.

Scope:  Harvey & Price will be setting sprinkler heads in the newly installed ACT ceilings.  This work is associated with the Hayward Field’s Human Physiology Tenant Improvement Project.

Services Impacted:  The fire sprinkler system will be offline for the Human Physiology Tenant Improvement, NW corner of lower level of Hayward Field (Wet Zone 4).
