Allen Hall Fire Sprinkler System Shutdown 10/12/19

On Saturday, October 12th from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, fire sprinkler system work will take place in Hallway 112 in the lower level of Allen Hall.  This shutdown is a follow-up to the one that occurred on October 5th.  Three additional upright sprinkler heads are required to be installed in the hallway.  IES will provide fire alarm support.  A fire watch will be in place and the sump floor drain in the Data Center sprinkler room will be monitored.

Work will be performed by Harvey & Price and IES.

A new branch line will be tapped into an existing capped line and extended down the hallway.  IES will provide fire alarm support.  Fire watch will be in place, and the sump floor drain in the Data Center sprinkler riser room will also be monitored.

Johnson Hall Fire Alarm/Suppression System Shutdown 10/3/19

On Thursday, October 3rd, from 7:00 am to 12:00 noon, the fire alarm/suppression system will be down in the entire building.  This will allow the contractor to relocate a sprinkler head in the Garden Level.  The contractor will provide fire watch during this shutdown.

Work will be performed by Preferred Construction.

Klamath Hall Fire Sprinkler Shutdown 9/9/19

On September 9th, from 5:00 am until 3:30 pm, fire sprinklers on the 3rd floor of Klamath will be offline while the new fire sprinkler system in the south half of the floor is tied in and the old system removed.   The contractor will be conducting a fire watch during this time.

Knight Campus Annex Planned Fire Sprinkler Shutdown 7/31/19

As part of the EWEB utility meter upgrade, the fire sprinkler at KC Annex will be shut down for approximately 10 minutes on Wednesday, July 31, at 10 a.m. Electricity and water (both domestic and industrial) will not be affected and will operate normally. The Environmental Health and Safety Fire Marshall Department is aware and will monitor the situation during the shutdown.

This will require the building sprinkler system to be temporarily drained.  There will also be construction activities in the area of the replacement. This will require the fire sprinkler system to be offline during this time.

5/15: Rainier Building Room 220 Sprinkler Head Replacement

On Tuesday, May 15, from 8:00a-12:00p, Risk Services will be replacing a sprinkler head in the Rainier Building, Room 220D. This will involve the shutdown of the sprinkler system for part of the day. 1/17: [JSMA, Chapman Hall, Fenton Hall, PLC and Susan Campbell] Fire Sprinkler Shutdown

Building Occupants,

As part of the Tykeson Hall project JSMA, Chapman Hall, Fenton Hall, PLC and Susan Campbell will be on active fire watch on January 17, 2018, from 7:30 am – 5:00 pm while contractors have the water distribution temporarily shut down that services the fire sprinkler systems.  The fire alarms are still active, but the automatic sprinkler will be temporarily shut down.

Fortis Construction is providing fire watch to all building except JSMA.  Museum staff will be providing fire watch for JSMA due to security reasons.

The UO Fire Marshall Office will be communicating with the Eugene/Springfield Fire Department.

9/12/17: Awareness Notice: 1600 Millrace Water Leak

Building Occupants:

Today a sprinkler head leaked within the 3rd-floor project area while it was actively being worked on. It was immediately plugged by the fire sprinkler installer. The water from the leak did run down along the south east corner of the building. Water damage was limited to 6 partial ceiling tiles in Rooms 277, 278, 274 &  105C. The ceiling tiles affected will be removed and replaced. Custodial Services will be walking through and fans are will be placed in the affected rooms. I will be passing through again to ensure that any impacted areas are cleaned and repaired.
