Scope: As part of the Huestis Renovation project, the fire suppression system will be shut down in the Huestis Basement. Active fire watch will be conducted by Lease Crutcher Lewis.

Details:  Horns, Strobes, and Speakers on the fire alarm system will not sound after the scheduled time. Provisions have been taken to monitor the building fire systems during this time and alarms that occur after the scheduled time should be considered real events and occupants should evacuate as usual per the U of O Emergency Procedures.

UPDATE: The EMU grease trap will be cleaned Thursday at 3:00pm.

Scope:  A water intrusion was found on the 2nd floor and Air Handling Unit 5 was determined to be the source. AHU-5 has been shut down to stop the water intrusion and will be off until repairs can be made. This will impact the cooling in the building.

Services Impacted:  Users may notice a difference in building cooling throughout the day.

Scope: During a recent flood in the mechanical room, ducts that provide ventilation to a portion of the first floor were damaged and cannot be re-used. New overhead ductwork and sprinkler piping to serve the classrooms and hallways shown will be installed.

Services Impacted:  We will be closing part of the SW section of McKenzie Hall to install new ductwork to classrooms 121-123 and the adjacent hallways H121 and H125. There will be no access to restrooms 111, 113, 115, and 116. Second floor rooms above the construction zone will experience light noise from work on first floor.

Only one of the building’s two vacuum pump systems is down.
The operation of the fume hoods will not be impacted and are still functional.
Parts are being ordered to repair the system.

Scope:  Throughout the duration of the Oregon22 World Championships (July 14 -24, 2022), the majority of the 1715 Franklin parking lot will be reserved for Public Safety Staff and Partners that are collaboratively working this event. The reserved public safety parking will be marked and barricaded and require a specific parking pass. It will be a tow away and citation zone. There will be some parking spaces outside the barricade that will be available to the UO community, first come first serve. Please see the map below – the yellow portion represents the reserved public safety parking area.

Services Impacted:  Parking at 1715 Franklin

Special Instructions:  We know that this may cause some inconvenience to our neighboring tenants, and we appreciate your flexibility during this historic event. University St and Johnson Lane Sidewalk Advisory 4/25

Scope:  This coming Monday, 4/25/22, the Susan Campbell sidewalk contractor will be excavating and preparing for upcoming concrete pours. As part of this work, they will be parking a truck on the corner of University St and Johnson Lane (shown in picture) for loading out, most likely in the early afternoon, and the corner will be closed at this time. There will be traffic control present to assist movement of pedestrians and vehicles around the corner when this work occurs.
