Agate Street Pedestrian Crossing Detour 8/17/20 – 8/21/20

Begin:  Monday, August 17th, 2020 at 7:00 am

End:      Friday, August 21st, 2020 at 5:00 pm

Area Impacted:  Agate Street Pedestrian Crossing

Scope:  As part of the new residence hall project on the Humpy Lumpy site, the mid-block crossing on Agate Street, between E. 13th and E. 15th, will be closed to allow Fortis Construction to reconfigure this section of the east sidewalk.

Services Impacted:

    • Pedestrians moving east and west will need to detour to either 13th Ave. or 15th Ave.
    • The west sidewalk on Agate St. will remain open.
    • All of these detours are ADA accessible.

LISB, Sidewalks, and Parking Lot 12B MRI Installation Advisory and Closures 7/6/2020

Begin:  Monday, July 6th, 2020 at 7:00 am

End:      Wednesday, July 8th, 2020 at 6:00 pm

Building(s) or Area(s) Impacted:  Lewis Integrative Science Building and Lot 12B

Scope:  The east end of Lot 12B, sidewalks, and the north entry to LISB will be closed July 6-8 to accommodate the delivery and installation of an MRI to the Lewis Center for Neuroimaging in LISB.

Services Impacted:

  • Sidewalks north of LISB and the north entry to LISB will be signed and closed.
  • All pedestrian traffic in this area will be rerouted south.

Peterson Hall South Steps Repair 3/20/20-3/23/20

Begin: Friday, March 20th, 2020 at 7:00 am

Scope: Peterson Hall South steps will be closed to repair the crumbling edges and will remain closed through the weekend to allow the concrete to cure.

Tykeson Hall Interior and Exterior Construction Advisory 3/21/20 – 6/30/20

UPDATE:

This project has been extended to the end of June. The amount of rain we have been receiving has caused delays.

Work is still ongoing at Tykeson Hall and is expected to be completed on May 22, 2020.

Building or Area Impacted:  Tykeson Hall

Scope:  During Spring Break, Fortis Construction will be installing branding elements and doing exterior concrete work.

Services Impacted:

  • The north and south entrances and exterior approach ways will be blocked.
  • There will be construction noises related to concrete chipping, saw cutting, and backup beeping from construction vehicles.
  • Inside Tykeson Hall, expect limited access during intermittent installations at reception counters (Floors 1, 2, 4), James Commons room 151, main stairwell between Garden Level and Floor 1.
  • Expect periodic construction noises from drilling.

Special Instructions:  Access and egress will be routed through the east and west doors.  Both doors are ADA accessible. See attached maps.

Parking Impacts at 13th Ave & Beech Street 3/23/20 – 4/17/20

Building(s) or Area(s) Impacted:  Parking at 13th Ave and Beech Street

Services Impacted:  The parking spots at 13th Avenue and Beech Street on the north side of 13th will be converted to two ADA parking spots. An ADA ramp will be added, asphalt will be removed and replaced with concrete with ADA striping and the catch basin will be upgraded for ADA compliance. Two way traffic will be maintained on 13th Ave and on the sidewalk.

1600 Millrace Elevator Shutdown 1/28/2020

Begin: January 28th, 2020

End: Tomorrow, January 29th, 2020

Building Impacted: 1600 Millrace

Scope: The repairs to the elevator were not able to be completed today.

Services Impacted: The elevator will be shutdown throughout the night and will resume service tomorrow.

Extra Notes: Out of order signs have been posted and the Otis Elevator technician will resume repairs first thing tomorrow.

Onyx East Elevator Closure 12/24 – 12/26 & 12/31 – 1/2

Building Occupants,

To ensure building security over the holiday, the Onyx east elevator will be closed on the following dates/times:

 

  • 12/24 11:00 AM through 12/26 7:00 AM
  • 12/31 at 5:00 PM through 1/2  7:00 AM

The Onyx west elevator and the Willamette Hall elevators are not impacted by this closure.

Parking Lot 6A ADA Spaces Closed 12/18/19 – 1/5/20

Update 12/30/19: This project has been extended so the concrete can cure longer and the stripes can be painted.

Area Impacted:  Lot 6A’s four ADA parking spaces (NE corner of 11th Ave. and Kincaid Street, directly north of McKenzie Hall).

Scope:  Four ADA parking spaces will be unavailable as improvements are made.  Demolition begins today, 12/18/19.

Services Impacted:  Parking unavailable in four ADA spaces.

Special Instructions:  If parking is needed, please contact Transportation Services and a temporary parking spot will be reserved at no charge.

Campus Community,

Fencing on Humpy Lumpy will be installed for Phase 1 of the Hamilton and Walton Hall Transformation Project beginning December 2nd. The fencing will remain in place for the duration of the project, through June of 2021. Pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the north and south of Humpy Lumpy, as shown in green on the map. Flaggers will be posted at the entrance and exit of the construction site to ensure pedestrian safety.  Work will be performed by Fortis Construction.

Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art Parking Lot #25 and Loading Dock Closure 8/13/19 – 8/18/19

As part of the Tykeson Hall construction project, Fortis Construction and Delta Construction will be pouring sidewalks along Johnson Lane. This will shut down access to, and close, parking lot 25 and the JSMA loading dock between August 13 and August 18.
