1/25/24 and 2/08/24 Huestis Hall Basement Domestic and Industrial Water Shutdown

UPDATE 2/06/24:
The valves for this shutdown have arrived, however the contractor has additional prep work to perform prior to the shutdown that was unforeseen.  This shutdown will occur on Thursday, February 8th from 7:00 am – 1:30 pm.

 

UPDATE 1/31/24:
The domestic water valves have arrived.  Work will take place on Wednesday, February 7th, from 7:00 am to 1:30 pm.
– Domestic hot and cold water will be offline.
– Restroom and handwashing sink fixtures will not be available during this outage.

 

UPDATE 1/23/24:
Delivery of the domestic water valves is delayed. Tomorrow’s shutdown for January 24th will be rescheduled for a later date.  A new shutdown notice will be distributed.

The project is proceeding with the Thursday, January 25th  industrial water shutdown from 7:00 am – 1:30 pm.   However, the shutdown affects industrial hot water only. There are no anticipated impacts to RO generation and therefore, the bypass is not necessary.

Additional Date:  Thursday, February 7 8, 2024, from 7:00 am to 1:30 pm

Scope:  Contractor will install control valves on the existing domestic and industrial water lines over two days.

Services Impacted:

  • January 24, February 7, Thursday, February 8, 7:00 am – 1:30 pm:  Domestic hot and cold water will be offline. Restroom and handwashing sink fixtures will not be available during this outage.
  • Thursday, January 25, 7:00 am – 1:30 pm:  Industrial and RO water service will be offline. Bypass valve will be open to provide cold water for the RO generator.

7/26/23 Prince Lucien Campbell (PLC) Heat for Hot Water Shutdown

Scope:  As part of the Huestis Renovation project, the RO/DI water will be shutoff in the basement.

Services Impacted:  This will affect the quarantine 34 suite and AqACS zebrafish facility.

  • RO shutdown is expected to be down between 7:00 am – 8:30 am.
  • Industrial water supply is expected to be down between 7:00 am and 12:00 noon.

  • RO water will be offline to the whole building.

Scope:  Repair is needed on domestic cold water line located in rooms 371/372 (see corroded pipe image below).

Services Impacted:  Building wide water shutdown affecting hot and cold water in restrooms, drinking fountains, autoclave steam, fume hoods, industrial hot and cold water.

Extra Notes:  RO/DI water will not be affected.

Klamath Hall Industrial Hot Water Shutdown 11/19/19

Update 11/19: The industrial hot water has been restored.

 

On Tuesday, November 19th from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, the industrial hot water will be shut down, affecting all industrial hot water lab faucets and autoclaves.  This will allow technicians to repair a leak on the top of an industrial water heater.  The domestic hot water will not be affected.

Work will be performed by the CPFM Plumbing Shop.

Willamette Hall Industrial Hot/Cold Water and Domestic Cold Water Shutdown 10/7/19-10/8/19

On October 7th at 10:30 pm until October 8th at 6:30 am, the industrial hot water, industrial cold water and domestic cold water will be shutdown.  The work is being done overnight to reduce impacts to building activities and/or classes.  The contractor will isolate these utilities to accommodate basement lab renovations and reduce future interruptions.

Work will be performed by performed by Lease Crutcher Lewis.
