Knight Law Generator Failure 8/28

Facilities Liaisons and EHS,

The generator at Knight Law water pump failed during routine annual maintenance. A new pump has been sourced and will likely be installed tomorrow, August 29. In the event of a power outage, Knight Law will not have back up power until the repair is complete. The back-up generator powers the fire alarm system, and in the event of a power loss, there will need to be a fire watch implemented.

For questions or concerns please contact CPFM Associate Director of Facilities Services Jim Cody at 541-346-2302.

Willamette and Streisinger Emergency Generator Repairs 11/21

Update: Generator repair was completed late in the day on 11/21.

________________________________________________

During routine maintenance and testing on the diesel generator that provides standby power to Willamette and Streisinger, the generator failed to start.  Until the generator can be repaired, Willamette and Streisinger buildings do not have Standby power.

Response actions are underway.  An emergency purchase order has been processed and Power Service West has been contacted and are trying to get a technician here as soon as possible.  The technicians ETA to campus is 3:00 pm 11/21.  Further updates will be sent as the situation develops.

Building fire suppression systems are unaffected by the loss of the generator. Fire detection and alarm systems will remain active on battery power in a power failure.  CPFM and the UO Fire Marshal’s office are in contact and prepared to initiate a fire watch if required by an extended power failure.

Please direct all questions to CPFM Work Control at 541-346-2319.

This notice has been sent to primary outlook contacts maintained by CPFM Work Control for Willamette and Streisinger.
