Tree Removal Notice 12/20

Campus Community,

On 12/20 Sperry Tree Care will be onsite removing an incense cedar tree. This will impact sidewalk access to the paths between Deady Hall and the west side of the old quad.

The incense cedar has unfortunately developed a considerable amount of decay behind some robust carpenter ant activity in the base of the tree. Its crown structure and live trunk are balanced upon a decreasing amount of sound wood and the tree’s proximity to frequently occupied sidewalks, benches necessitate its removal to protect life and property. This venerable veteran of North Campus has contributed positively to the atmosphere and ecology of the area for many decades and shall be missed by the University Community.

Please contact Phillip Carroll University of Oregon Landscape Maintenance Supervisor with any Questions or concerns concerning this process pcarroll@uoregon.edu
