4/3/17 – 4/7/17 – Huestis 2nd Floor – Demolition of Environmental Chambers

Building Occupants:

During the week of April 3-7 demolition and removal of the environmental chambers on the 2nd floor of Huestis is scheduled to begin. Chambers are located in Rooms: 232A, 226A, 226B, and 226C.  This activity is expected to last 2-4 weeks.  The typical work schedule  will be 4am – 8am.

As work begins, we will be able to partially demo some of the chambers to access the utilities that are concealed by the chambers. Once this field verification is complete, we will provide an update and advance notifications of any required shut-downs.

4/3/17 – 4/7/17: 1600 Millrace 3rd Floor Renovation begins

Building Occupants,

During the week of April 3-7, 2017, work on the 3rd floor renovation at 1600 Millrace will begin.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of September 2017.

The contractor has been instructed to perform activities that create disruptive noise and/or vibrations after-hours to minimize disturbances.

3/31/17 Susan Campbell Hall and Hendricks Hall Domestic Water Shutdown

Building Occupants:

On Friday, March 31st from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, the domestic water supply will be shut down to all fixtures in Susan Campbell Hall and Hendricks Hall.  Work is being performed to replace faulty water valves in the vault at the intersection of University & 15th, near Gerlinger. Sinks, toilets, urinals, drinking fountains, lavatory faucets, and janitorial faucets will also be affected in this area. Please plan ahead to make arrangements to use water in adjacent buildings during shutdown hours.

Work will be performed by Twin Rivers Plumbing.

4/5/17 Mac Court HVAC Preventative Maintenance

On Wednesday, April 5th, from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, annual building preventative maintenance for Mac Court will be performed to service all air handling equipment, supply and exhaust fans.

Supply and exhaust air (including restrooms) may be intermittent throughout the day.

Work will be performed by CPFM’s Zone A.

Esslinger Hall HVAC Preventative Maintenance 4/5/17

Due to scheduled preventative maintenance on the Esslinger Hall HVAC equipment, building occupants should expect intermittent shutdowns on air handling units and restroom exhaust fans to allow crews to change system filters.  This scheduled work will be taking place on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm.

03/28/2017: Cellular equipment removal from the roof of PLC, Kincaid Street Closure at 14th

Campus Community,

As part of the cellular equipment removal from the roof of Prince Lucien Campbell (PLC), Kincaid Street will be closed to parking between the 14th Alley and 14th Street.  Kincaid Street will only have one-way traffic control between the 14th Alley and 14th Street.  The Sidewalk on the eastside of Kincaid Street will also be closed.  This work is associated with the cellular provider T-Mobile.  The City has approved appropriate permits for this temporary closure.

This work is taking place Tuesday, March 28, 2017, from 6:00 am – 5:00 pm.

3/28/17: SRC/North Esslinger Domestic Water Shutdown

On Tuesday, March 28th from 7:30 am to 10:00 am, the domestic water supply will be shut down to all fixtures in North Esslinger, Holliwell Lab, and to old shower rooms in the SRC (Student Rec Center).  Sinks, toilets, urinals, drinking fountains, lavatory faucets, and janitorial faucets will also be affected in this area.

Work will be performed by CPFM Zone A crew.

03/27/17 – 03/31/17: Sidewalk closures affecting several buildings for Spring Break

Campus Community,

Please see the below sidewalk closures for March 27 –  31, 2017.  Each section will take approximately two days to complete once repairs have started. Areas will be well marked.

  • The broken sidewalk on the east side of Agate Street next to the Agate Hall playground.
  • The sidewalk on the south side of 13th Street, in front of the Hamilton dorm and across the street from the Jaqua Academic Center.
  • The sidewalk on the west side of Agate Street, between 15th and 18th, next to the Hayward Field – the entire section of pavement will not be done, only the broken pavement next to the hammer throwing area.
  • The sidewalk on the east side on Kincaid, in front of Prince Lucien Campbell (PLC) where the City of Eugene has parking meters – please note that only the east entrance will be affected by this sidewalk replacement.
  • The pedestrian path directly adjacent to PLC to the north – only the portion beside the building is being replaced.

As part of continued work associated with the SCUA HVAC Project at The Knight Library.  Below are details about the Crane Pick located at the southeast corner taking place Monday, March 27 – Wednesday, March 29, 2017.

The arrival of the crane, set up, and the crane picks mechanical equipment off the rooftop.

On the southeast corner of the main library, the driveway will be partially blocked, and the walk area between Knight Library and Gerlinger Annex will have a large crane set up.  Additional delivery equipment will be in the area.

Friendly Hall Tree Trimming South Side of Building. Sidewalk Closed 3/17/17

On Friday, March 17th the sidewalk on the south side of Friendly Hall will be closed due to a lift being utilized for tree trimming and gutter work from 7:30am to 2:00pm. Please use an alternate route due to safety concerns.

Klamath Hall Fume Hood Preventative Maintenance 3/29/17

Building Occupants,

Due to scheduled preventative maintenance on Wednesday, March 29th, 2017,  Klamath Hall building occupants should expect shutdowns on the North side (basement and 3rd floor) fume hoods from 8:00 am – 11:30 am and South-side fume hoods (basement and 3rd floor) from 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm.

For lab safety fume hood sashes must be in the down position during this scheduled annual maintenance.

3/29/17: Knight Library Domestic Water Supply Shutdown (Canceled)

Note- The shutdown for tomorrow, March 29th has been canceled. Zone A maintenance crews were able to repair the issue without having to shutdown the water supply.

On Wednesday, March 29th, from 6:00am to 8:00am, the domestic water supply will be interrupted.  Isolation valves will be installed for the Special Collections / HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) trap primers.  Work will be performed by Apollo Mechanical.

Mar 27-31, 2017: Huestis Hall 3rd Floor Window Replacement

Building Occupants,

During Spring Break March 27 – 31, 2017, windows are scheduled to be replaced in Huestis 306 as part of Lab Renovations.

Schedule:

  • March 27 from 7:30 am – 12:00 pm (noon) Contractors will utilize a lift at the south end of the building to lift the new windows to the 3rd Floor. There will be portions of the sidewalk along East 13th St that will be closed during this activity.
  • March 27 – 31, 2017 Windows will be replaced in Lab 306 from the inside. Sidewalks to the east of the building will be restricted (see diagram).

3/25/17-4/1/17: Klamath Hall 2nd Floor Fume Hood Shutdown

Building Occupants for Klamath 2nd Floor ONLY,

On Saturday, March 25th through Saturday, April 1st, 2017, fume hood exhaust air will be shut down for the north and west portion of the 2nd floor of Klamath.   Fume hood sashes will need to remain closed and containers within the hoods need to remain sealed.

The fume hood exhaust in the Nolen and Prehoda lab spaces will remain active and available to others for use during the shutdown.

See the attached diagram highlighting in the shaded blue area the spaces and fume hoods that will be impacted.

The work will be performed by GBC Construction.

On Monday, March 27th through Thursday, March 30th, 2017, Klamath Hall’s heating water will be turned off.  This will affect the entire 2nd floor heating water, which MAY cause the water temperature to decline by 10 degrees F.  The work will be performed by a contractor.  Spring Break was selected to limit the impact to building occupants.

As part of the Price Science Commons and Research Library project Andersen Construction will have a series of power outages March 27, 28 and 30, 2017.  These scheduled outages will affect building occupants in Cascade, Klamath and the Price Commons and Research Library.

 

Schedule of Activities:

 

Date: Monday March 27, 2017

Time: 7:00 am – 5:00 pm

Affected Buildings: 

  • Cascade

  • Price Science Commons and Research Library

Building Impacts: 

  • Cascade all emergency egress lighting will be off.
  • PSC all normal power will be off; elevator will be out of service; data equipment will be off; HVAC will be shut down and all lighting will be off.
  • Klamath heating water pumps will be off spaces may be cooler by 10*F.
  • Klamath basement only HVAC supply air will be shut down.  Please note Andersen Construction will be installing plastic zipper doors on doors to optic labs and provide temporary cooling to the anatomy lab.

  • 6:00 am – 7:00 am Switch both ATS from standby to normal power (correcting the phasing).

  • Loss of power will not be detected; notice provided as a precaution.
  • PSC elevator will be out of service for the duration.  Onyx Bridge elevator will be operational.

Time:  7:00 am – 12:00pm

Affected Buildings:

Building Impacts:

  • Final Commissioning of the standby and emergency power automatic transfer switches.
  • 7:00 am – 11:00 am Price Science Commons and Research Library elevator and data will be offline.  The Building Automation System in Klamath B29 will be offline but all equipment will continue to operation.  Building Control systems will resume and reset at 9:00 am. The reason for the revision is that testing between 9-11am will likely cause the normal power and data to noticeably flicker.  Power will not be reliable until 11am.
  • 9:00 am – 12:00 am Price Science Commons and Research Library and Cascade emergency lighting will be shut down and the fire alarm panel will be running on battery backup.
