Parking Lot 58 Closure 4/29-5/2

Scope: The City of Eugene is requiring that the parking lot entrance at Lot 58 (1715 Franklin Blvd.) and sections of the sidewalk be repaved as part of the current construction project at the hotel next door. Due to this requirement, the parking lot will be closed during this time. Lot 4 or the Millrace Parking Garage can be used for parking on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Extra Notes: Please make sure your personal vehicles are out of the parking lot by 5:30PM, Thursday, April 29th. Vehicles will not be allowed to enter or exit the parking lot during the project.

The University Fire Marshal’s office will be conducting Fire Safety Inspections per the following schedule:

  • May 5th – 6th :   Onyx Bridge / Klamath

Knight Law Drinking Fountain Replacement Advisory 4/5/21 – 4/23/21

Scope: Facilities Services will be removing the existing water fountain on the first floor hallway outside locker room (H164) and replacing it with a new fountain that includes a bottle filler.

Services Impacted:

  • The drinking fountain in H164 will be offline until the new fountain is installed
  • Users can expect to see Facilities Services personnel, including plumbers, carpenters, electricians, and painters working in the area intermittently for the duration of the project.
  • Users can expect to hear normal and occasional construction noises such as hammering and drilling, and may smell a water-based latex, non-toxic paint, during the process.

Extra Notes: No other utility disruptions or shutoffs are expected at this time, however, if there are any more, an additional notice will be distributed.

Tykeson Hall and Chapman Hall Lawn Renovation Advisory 3/29/21 – 7/30/21

The fencing will remain in place through August.

The fencing will remain in place until the end of July. Work is expected to be complete by July 30th.

The work is still ongoing and is expected to be complete on July 23rd, 2021.

 

2nd UPDATE 5/25/21:

Concrete Work Advisory extended to 6/07/21

Due to the recent wet weather conditions, the concrete pour was delayed.  Therefore, the west entry to Tykeson will remained blocked until Tuesday, June 1.  The  construction fence will remain in place and block the west entry. This will allow for adequate cure time on the newly poured concrete.

The remainder of the concrete flatwork pavement will be poured on June 6 and 7. The west end of Johnson Lane will be blocked during these days for the concrete trucks.

 

UPDATE 5/5/21:

Scope:  As part of the Tykeson Lawn Renovation Project, Delta Construction will be removing and pouring concrete panels outside Tykeson Hall’s west entry.

Services Impacted:  The construction fence will be moved to block access to the west entry/exit of Tykeson Hall and close the seating area under the west canopy.

  • Building entries and access to Chapman and Tykeson Halls will be maintained and not impacted.
  • Typical construction activities and noises, including the sound of beeping from vehicles backing up, is to be expected in and around the landscape and hardscape areas.

Lillis AMAG Panel Maintenance Advisory 3/24/21 – 3/25/21

AMAG Maintenance/Panel Upgrades will continue at Lillis Complex on Thursday, 03/25/2021, from 7:45 am – 5:oo pm. Restricted access permissions continue and we will again have UOPD staff in the building to assist if any access needs arise. Lillis Hall will be undergoing AMAG panel maintenance as well as hardware upgrades Wednesday, 03/24/2021 (tomorrow), from 7:45 am to 5:00 pm. Regular authorized building access should not be impacted (Spring Break Restricted Access Only), but if issues arise, UOPD will provide building access requests via the SOC at 541.346.2919 ext. #2. We will have a Community Service Officer on site in the Lillis atrium/building during the panel maintenance to support your needs.
