  • September 28 – November 29, 2022: The gantry crane area will be blocked off and the hallway ramp will be narrowed as the Huestis elevator is decommissioned and removed. (orange)  COMPLETE
  • November 30, 2022 December 19, 2022 – March 13 31, 2023: Scaffolding will be in place over head of the hallway ramp, access will be maintained between Huestis and Lokey. (red)
  • December 1 – 16, 2022: The south side of the hallway ramp will be under containment. The corridor width will be narrowed, but cart access to the Zebrafish Facility will be maintained. (orange)

Details: Horns, Strobes, and Speakers on the fire alarm system will not sound after the scheduled time. Provisions have been taken to monitor the building fire systems during this time and alarms that occur after the scheduled time should be considered real events and occupants should evacuate as usual per the U of O Emergency Procedures.

All areas will be covered and safe immediately after each task takes place.

9/22/22 – 9/23/22 Student Move-In parking and Traffic Impacts

As the UO welcomes new resident students to campus, Transportation Services would like to make you aware of some upcoming traffic and parking impacts that are expected the week of September 19th. To help accommodate this large move-in process, we encourage parkers to avoid parking lots around the residence halls this week.

Traffic impacts related to street closures near residence halls on 9/22 and 9/23.

  • Agate Street and portions of 13th, 15th and 17th Avenues will be restricted to Move-in traffic and vehicles on UO business.
  • All 13th Ave traffic must enter from 13th Ave and Franklin Blvd and should expect delays.
  • Permit holders will be able to access UO lots, but should expect delays
  • 13th Ave between University and Agate Streets will restricted to westbound traffic only.
  • The 13th Ave Garage will be open to permit holders
  • Lots 29A, 29D, 33, 34E, 36A and 37 will be reserved for Move in

9/22/22 Huestis Basement Zebrafish Facility Electrical Shutdown

9/14/22 Campus Emergency Autoclave Steam Shutdown

UPDATE:
S-2 has completed the repairs and the utility staff is slowly bringing steam up to pressure.
It is expected to be fully pressurized within the next 2 hours.

Scope:  The Utilities and Energy is currently investigating a major steam leak found in the tunnel under Franklin Blvd.  We believe the leak is coming from the clean steam line (Autoclave) and have shut off the Autoclave so we can investigate.  Currently we do not have an estimate of time when steam will be restored.

Services Impacted:  Autoclave steam will be offline until the repair can be made.
