HEDCO Chilled Water Shutdown 8/20/19

Facilities Services has discovered that both chilled water pumps in HEDCO have failed. FS Mechanics expect to have the pumps up and running by the end of the day. There will be no cooling in the building during this time period, but CPFM has a limited number of box fans available to loan out. Please contact Eric Owens or CPFM Work Control Center to arrange for fan usage.

Rainier Water Fountains & Break-Room Sinks Out of Service 8/2/19

On Friday, August 2, 2019, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) will be staging and sampling drinking fountains in the Rainier Building for drinking-water monitoring. All drinking fountains and break-room sinks will be tagged and left idle from 9:30 AM until approximately 4:00 PM. Units will return to service after EHS has collected the samples.

Please do not use any tagged fixtures.

University Health, Counseling and Testing Center Chilled Water Shutdown 7/25

Facilities Liaisons,

As part of the project, the chilled water to the University Health, Counseling and Testing Center will be temporarily offline on Thursday, July 25 from 6 pm – 10 pm while a new pipe is installed. This will impact building cooling throughout the building during the outage.

Onyx Bridge Chilled Water Shutdown Impacting Cooling 6/27 7pm – 6/28 5am

Facilities Liaisons,

Revisions to the existing piping in the basement are needed in association with the Klamath 3rd Floor Renovation. This will impact cooling to the east half of Onyx Bridge on floors 1, 2 and 3.

An evening outage was coordinated is to reduce the impact to the occupants.

The controlled temperature (CT) rooms will not be impacted.

University Health Center Water Shutdown 6/10/19-6/11/19

On Monday evening, June 10th from 6:00 pm until Tuesday morning, June 11th at 6:00 am, domestic hot/cold and chilled water will be shutdown to make utility connections for the new addition.

Work will be performed by LCL.

Hedco Education AHU-8 Shutdown 1/9

Building Occupants,

CPFM Facilities Services Plumbing Shop needs to shut down the chilled water line to the AHU-8 at HEDCO Education on 1/9 from 9 am – 4 pm. This will impact chilled water and building cooling. The impact to the building should be minimal.

4/7: [OREGON HALL] Electrical Gear Outage Impacting Various Building Equipment & Areas 1E, 2E, 3E, 4E (all east wing areas)

This notice has been sent to all UO Spaces building contacts in Oregon Hall and Outlook Lists FS Memo and Computing Centers.

On Saturday, April 7, 2018, from 6:00 am – 3:30 pm Fortis Construction and JKG Electrical will be shutting down the basement electrical gear impacting the flowing equipment;

Freight Elevator
Passenger Elevators
Panel MSP1, west basement, basement pumps- chilled water/ heating/ condensate
Panel WRB, west basement, sump pump SP-3, exhaust fan EF-3
Water Heater in main basement
Panel ERB, main basement, hot water pump, sump pump SP4, dry pipe air compressor

Impacted Areas: 1E, 2E, 3E, 4E (all east wing areas)

Fortis will provide power to the air compressor and monitor the sump pumps.  This shutdown should not affect the data center.

3/14: [ESSLINGER & SRC] Chilled Water Shutdown

This notice has been sent to all building users.

Building Occupants,

Utilities and Energy will temporarily shut down the chilled water to Esslinger and Student Rec Center on March 14 from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm while S2 Mechanical makes necessary repairs.  This will impact services utilizing chilled water building wide.

12/28 – 12/29: Update: Affected Building Change: Now [STRAUB] Chilled Water System Shutdown

Update –

After confirming with Utilities and Energy it has been determined that this chilled water shutdown will impact Straub.  No other buildings should be impacted.  This is a revision from the notice below.  This will impact all equipment utilizing the chilled water loop in Straub.

Starting December 28, 2017 at 7:30 am ending December 29, 2017 at 9:00 am the chilled water will be shut down in the tunnel while new values are installed.  This will impact chilled water to Living and Learning Center, University Health Counseling and Testing Center and possibly and Earl.  This will impact all equipment utilizing the chilled water loop.

12/22: Klamath Makeup Water Shutdown

On December 22, 2017, from 4:00 am – 2:00 pm the makeup water will be temporarily shut down that services Klamath Hall.  There is no anticipated discernible impact expected to building services.  This is necessary due to work that is being done on the water heater system that supports Klamath.

On Monday at 3:00 pm October 9, 2017, CPFM crews will be shutting off the chilled water valves that service Knight Library, Lokey Education, Hedco, Clinical Services and Frohnmayer Music as part of the pump 17 relocation due to the construction of the Collier House Parking Lot.  This will impact chilled water services and AC units through 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.

Pacific Hall B-2 Outage Timeline 9/9- 12/18

To coordinate Pacific Hall outages related to the Pacific B-2 Renovation Design and Construction project managers Nick Pritchard and  Jen Miley have put together a timeline of events starting September 9, 2017, through December 18, 2017. These outages will vary from building wide to only impacting certain rooms. The purpose of this email is to provide an overview and reference.  Nick and Jen have been working closely with building users to document lab equipment and how this might impact departments and institutes. Going forward intentions are to provide this overview and continue to communicate building wide outages email notifications for anything that is impacting building wide services. For outages that are localized to individual rooms, the project managers will be communicating directly with occupants.

On August 26, 2017, the chilled water will be turned off that services the Knight Library, Lokey Education, Hedco Education, Education Annex, Clinical Services, Frohnmayer Music and Berwick Hall from 6:00 am – 6:00 pm.  This temporary shutdown is necessary to allow piping from the tunnel to the Knight Library equipment room to be put in place in anticipation of adding two pumps for chilled water.   This will affect air conditioning services that are supplied by chilled water.

8/11/17-8/14/17: Ford Alumni and Columbia Parking Garage Chilled Water Shutdown

Building Occupants,

On Friday, August 11th, at 7:00 am until Monday, August 14th, at 10:00 am, Ford Alumni and Columbia Parking Garage chilled water will be shut down to repair a leak in the chilled water return line.

Since this will affect the HVAC cooling systems, there will be no air conditioning during this time.

Work will be performed by CPFM’s Facilities Services.

Notice: Allen Hall Chilled Water System Repairs 7/13/17 Starting at 8pm

Building Occupants,

Starting at 8:00 pm today July 13, 2017, the contractor S2 along with CPFM Facilities Services will be onsite making emergency repairs to the chilled water system. They hope to be completed by 2:00 am. Building occupants should expect increased activity in the building and noise associated with this repair.

Facilities Services is working closely with the Data Center on how this is impacting services.

Notice: Pacific Hall Construction Impacts to Lab Gas, Drain Lines, Compressed Air, RO System and Water Starting 6/21/17 Ending 07/07/17

As part of the Pacific Hall Project, the following impacts will be happening starting June 21, 2017 and running through July 7, 2017.

 

Starting June 21, 2017, at 7:00 am

Ending June 22, 2017, by 4:00 pm

Scope: Lab gas will be disconnected temporarily to allow for construction activities.

 

Starting June 22, 2017, at 7:00 am

Ending June 23, 2017, by 4:00 pm

Scope: Lab sink drain lines need to be temporarily disconnected and configured to accommodate construction activities.

 

Starting June 23, 2017, at 7:00 am

Ending June 23, 2017, by 4:00 pm

Scope: Compressed air will be disconnected to allow construction activities.

 

Starting June 26, 2017, 7:00 am

Ending June 29, 2017, by 4:00 pm

Scope: RO water will temporarily be disconnected to allow for construction activities.

5/20/17: Klamath, Price Science Commons, and portions of Onyx Bridge Chilled Water Shutdown

Building Occupants,

On Saturday, May 20th from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm, cooling water for supply air will be off to Klamath Hall, Price Science Commons & Research Library, and Onyx Bridge’s 3rd floor and portions of the 2nd floor.  During the shutdown, spaces may increase in temperature.  The duration is the ‘worst case scenario’.  Crews will work to be complete early.

The exact spaces impacted are: All of Klamath Hall, all of Price Science Commons & Research Library, 3rd floor of Onyx Bridge and newly renovated portions of the 2nd floor containing the conference room and IMB office.

Work will be performed by GBC Construction.

UPDATE:  The shutdown originally scheduled for April 24th and 25th did not take place, but has been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 9th from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Building Contacts,

On May 9th at 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, there will be a shutdown for the chilled water service to McKenzie Hall for the purpose of installing a water meter device in the main inlet to the building.  Air conditioning for the building will be affected.

Work will be performed by GBC Contractors and Twin River Plumbing.
