UPDATE:
In addition to the electrical shutdowns, the domestic water will be offline on Tuesday, March 25th, from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm.  This will impact the restrooms, sinks, and drinking fountains.

 

1st Electrical Outage:       Monday, March 24, 2025, at 6:00 am to 9:00 am

Water Shutdown:              Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 6:00 am to 3:00 pm

2nd Electrical Outage:      Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 6:00 am to 10:00 am

3rd Electrical Outage:      Friday, March 28, 2025, at 6:00 am to 9:00 am

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  UO Portland Innovation Center

Scope:  Planned power outages are scheduled over spring break. The contractors will be installing new HVAC systems throughout various areas of the building.

Services Impacted:

  • This will affect electrical including lights, elevators/lifts, heating, and HVAC air supply.
  • There will be contractors in the hallways especially in the West side of the building particularly Levels 2 & 3 which may prevent movement through the hallways.
  • Expect temperatures to be inconsistent due to the power shutdowns.
  • Power and Internet will not be available during these times.

Special Instructions:  Please shut down and unplug all multi-function copier devices as well as any printers during scheduled power outages. Scope:  Testing and balancing (TAB) of the entire 2nd floor HVAC system and radiators is scheduled for March 24 – 28, March 31, and April 1. The work will take approximately 7 – 8 days in total with the workers moving throughout all the 2nd floor spaces for the duration.

  • Heating and HVAC will not be affected during this time.
  • The contractor will not be in any one space for much longer than 20 minutes at a time but may need to return to the same location multiple times.

UPDATE:  The repair has now been completed and all systems in the building are now back online.

UPDATE:  An electrical panel will be shutdown today 1/30/25 at 1:00 pm for 2 hours to replace a breaker for AHU-1.  The panel also serves AHU-2 which will shutdown heating to the following additional spaces for 2 hours. Rooms 105, 109, 118,120, 203, 205, 207, Vestibule V220, and Lobby L120.

UPDATE:
The duct work has been completed and heat has been restored.

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Clinical Service Building

Scope:  The ducting is being replaced in the building and foundation area due to it failing and leaking.  This has made it impossible to balance the air flow.  There will be partial heat outages as they progress through the replacements.

Services Impacted:

  • Rooms affected in the basement are 01, 01A, 01B, 01D, 01E, 02, 03, 05, 06, 07, 08, AND 09. For the first and second floor it is everything east of the staircase.
  • Heat may be out to the different rooms as they remove and replace each section of the ducting.
  • Plan on bringing additional warm outerwear.  Heat will still be on to the rest of the building, so it shouldn’t be too bad if doors are left open.
