Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Centennial Hall, Mary Neils Hall, Elizabeth Hall, Weber Hall, 6441 NE 30th House, parking at NE 29th Ave. between Centennial and Holman Apts, and the East Hall’s elevator.

Scope:  Site preparation will begin for the new Child Behavioral Health Building.  Beginning Monday, 12/1, the fencing will be installed.  On the following Monday, 12/8, abatement will begin on all the structures within the fenced perimeter.  Demolition to follow abatement in Spring/ Summer of ’26. East Hall elevator to be without phone service throughout the duration. Contact facilities if you need to operate the elevator.  Updates will be sent out as the project progresses.  The Child Behavioral Health Building construction is expected to be complete in the Winter ’28/29.

Services Impacted:

  • No parking or pedestrian traffic within fencing perimeter.
  • Abatement activities mostly limited to the interior of buildings and should not affect noise levels in surrounding areas.
  • Vehicular / construction traffic to be expected.

Special Instructions:  Alternate parking is available in campus parking lots or any of the side streets, except for NE 28th Ave..

Scope:  Utilities and Energy will be swapping the feeder that powers the EMU with a new feeder as part of our feeder replacement plan. In addition, Utilities and Energy staff will work with EMU staff to perform electrical Maintenance on the 208/120-volt electrical distribution system in compliance with NFPA – 70E and NFPA – 70B.

Services Impacted:

  • Normal power 120-volt service will be off.
  • The elevators will be shut down during this time.
  • Standby power and 480-volt power will remain online.

Scope:   The UO Fire Marshall will be performing elevator, sprinkler system, and fire alarm testing for the entire building this Thursday.

Details: Horns, Strobes, and Speakers on the fire alarm system will not sound after the scheduled time. Provisions have been taken to monitor the building fire systems during this time and alarms that occur after the scheduled time should be considered real events and occupants should evacuate as usual per the U of O Emergency Procedures.

Begin:  July 9, 2025 – ongoing issue

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Tykeson Hall

Scope:  Per Otis, due to a software issue from an update on July 9th, the elevator will audibly announce intermittently, when the button is pushed, “This elevator is temporarily out of service.” The elevator will then shut down for a couple of minutes with the doors open.  After that time, it will reset itself and become operational.  Otis Elevator is saying that the elevator is safe to use.  Go ahead and push the button to go to the floor you originally requested.  Otis technicians are working to address this issue and an update will be sent when it has been resolved.

Services Impacted:  If you receive the audible message, you will need to wait until the elevator resets itself and then it will be operational again.

Scope:  The electrical switchgear will be shut down for correction work by the electrical subcontractor. This work is remaining from the punch list items pending completion.

Services Impacted: See details listed below –

Campus Center (852) – no power to the building, no network services, no security, no mechanical, no elevator

  • Loss of power to the building with no mechanical service
  • Loss of network connectivity for client computers/devices (both on wired and wireless network)
  • Security cameras will shut off
  • Access Control will be unreachable through Symmetry and card swipes may not register
  • Lenel Server will be shut down
  • AV equipment may become unreachable
  • Voice Gateway, for emergency phones (campus wide) and elevator phones, will have no network connectivity for the gateway. Elevator and emergency phones will be out of order. ‘Out of Order’ signs will be posted on all emergency phones and elevator doors

Centennial Hall (853) – no power to the building

  • Loss of power to the building

IT Shelter (850) – no security, no BAS controls

  • Loss of network connectivity to Access Control, security camera, and HVAC controls
  • Campus router and Out of Band management are DC plant powered, backed by ATS/MTS/generator so they should remain up

30th Apartments (864) & (865) – no network services

  • Loss of network connectivity for client computers/devices (both on wired and wireless) as network connectivity for this building is now passively connected through Elizabeth basement to network equipment in Campus Center

Campus Wide

  • Emergency phones across campus – no network services (phones out of service)

Additional Instructions:  Please shut down and unplug all multi-function copier devices as well as any printers during scheduled power outages. Power has been restored, and the elevators have been inspected and returned so service.

 

UPDATE:
This outage also includes Riley Hall.
Elevators will be offline until power has been restored, and Otis has completed their inspection.

 

Begin:  Tuesday, July 8, 2025 – effective immediately

End:     Unknown

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Baker Downtown Center, Barnhart Hall, and Riley Hall

Scope:  Elevators and power are offline due to an electrical outage caused by a goose colliding with the transformer.  EWEB has been notified.   An update will be sent when service has been restored.

Services Impacted: Elevators will be out of order until power has been restored, and Otis has done their inspection.

The elevator has been repaired and restored to service.

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Prince Lucien Campbell

Scope:  The north elevator has been shut down for emergency repairs. It is expected to be repaired sometime this afternoon.  An update will be sent when it has been returned to service.

Services Impacted:  The north elevator is offline.  Please use the south elevator
