Scope:  Be advised that Central Plant staff is in process of adding water to the TES tank in the “back 40”, and as part of that there is a fire hose run across the roadway between the back of the plant and the TES tank, and it is now blocked off – see picture.

Services Impacted:  Section of road closed in the Back 40 between the plant and the thermal tank.

Special InstructionsPlease do not use that roadway until Tuesday at noon.

UPDATE:
Western Asphalt will be back on Monday morning, August 5th, to paint the EV and ADA spaces.  The three lots listed will be shut down Sunday night and closed throughout the day on Monday.  However, once the paint is dry, the signs will be removed and the lots will be reopened.

Domestic and industrial water have been restored to the building.

Scope:  Due to a leak on the 1st floor 3″ domestic water line, the entire building will need to be shut down to fix this leak.

Services Impacted:  All water in the building will be offline:  domestic hot and cold water, industrial hot and cold water, auto claves, cage washers, restrooms, drinking fountains, and anything else that is connected to the domestic cold and hot water lines.

Until further notice, ADA access into Knight Library is through the west entrance of the testing center.

Scope:  The feeder that provides power to Erb Memorial Union and Jane Sanders is failing and needs replaced. Utilities and Energy will provide a jumper to refeed both buildings until the feeder can be replaced in the near future.

Services Impacted:

  • The main electrical system will be offline at Jane Sanders Stadium but the 480 Volt will remain on at the EMU.  The 480 Volt is a separate feeder, so the entire building (EMU) will not be off.
  • Standby power will remain energized during the shutdown.

Special Instructions:  If you have concerns about accessing your workplace when elevator services are impacted, please contact your supervisor to find an appropriate accommodation.

Additional Instructions:  Please shut down and unplug all multi-function copier devices as well as any printers during scheduled power outages. We have had a change in timing.  We will be blocking East 13th Avenue and doing the crane pick between 5:00 am and 8:00 am Tuesday morning, July 16th.
During this 3-hour window, roadblocks will be set up on East 13th Ave. just to the west of Carson Hall and toward the western end of Willamette Hall.

  • The north sidewalk along E. 13th Ave. between Willamette and Huestis will be affected.
  • E. 13th Avenue will be blocked off. narrow down to one lane of traffic where the crane is staged.
  • There will be some noise associated with the delivery of the materials for the platform on the east roof of Willamette.

Scope:  Due to the installation of a new flow meter and removal of abandoned steam pipeline components, building heating will be shutdown.

Services Impacted:

  • Due to anticipated summer weather, this outage will have little to no impact on building users.
  • Work will take place in the tunnel.

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Huestis, Willamette, Volcanology, Columbia, EMU, Carson Hall, JMSA (Art deliveries), SRS, FS

Scope:  The Percent for Art installation at Huestis Hall will take place the week of July 8-12.   A crane will be set up on 13th Ave during the installation project. – See attachment images.

Services Impacted:

  • During that time, parking on 13th Ave. at Huestis Hall will be offline and pedestrians are encouraged to use the south sidewalk.
  • Egress/entry to Huestis Hall will be routed east and west to avoid the south plaza area where the installation lifts and crane will be staged.
  • On July 10-11, vehicle through access on 13th Ave. will be limited to one lane of traffic between Carson Hall and Erb Memorial Union.
  • Contractor will provide flaggers.

Special Instructions:  Given the limited access on 13th, deliveries and other through way vehicular activities are requested to limit deliveries or temporarily reroute to 18th Ave and University Street.

Due to material delays, the contractor will start work on Friday, July 26th and will be complete on Monday, September 30th.

 

UPDATE 7/10/24:
The contractor will start work this Friday, July 12th.
This will require temporary shutdowns of the HVAC system which will also affect the Student Rec Center.
