Begin:  Friday, August 29, 2025, at 8:00 am

End:      Friday, August 29, 2025, at 2:00 pm

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Portland East Residence Hall

Scope:  Power will shut off to the East Residence Hall to allow Pacific Power to install a protective device on the power pole to help prevent electrocution of birds and small animals.

Services Impacted:  There will be no power in the building, so computers and wireless connections will not be functioning, nor will elevators and portable air conditioners that serve the few occupied offices in the East Residence Hall.

Special Instructions:  If you have concerns about accessing your workplace when elevator services are impacted, please contact your supervisor to find an appropriate accommodation.

Special Instructions:  Please shut down and unplug all multi-function copier devices as well as any printers during scheduled power outages. UPDATE:
In addition to the electrical shutdowns, the domestic water will be offline on Tuesday, March 25^th, from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm.  This will impact the restrooms, sinks, and drinking fountains.

 

1^st Electrical Outage:       Monday, March 24, 2025, at 6:00 am to 9:00 am

Water Shutdown:              Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 6:00 am to 3:00 pm

2^nd Electrical Outage:      Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 6:00 am to 10:00 am

3^rd Electrical Outage:      Friday, March 28, 2025, at 6:00 am to 9:00 am

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  UO Portland Innovation Center

Scope:  Planned power outages are scheduled over spring break. The contractors will be installing new HVAC systems throughout various areas of the building.

Services Impacted:

• This will affect electrical including lights, elevators/lifts, heating, and HVAC air supply.
• There will be contractors in the hallways especially in the West side of the building particularly Levels 2 & 3 which may prevent movement through the hallways.
• Expect temperatures to be inconsistent due to the power shutdowns.
• Power and Internet will not be available during these times.

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Fenton Hall

Scope:  Due to alterations to the upper level of the Fenton Stacks (room 314), the network cables will need to be relocated.  This will involve some down-time for UO network cables and Wi-Fi access in Fenton 314, 214, and 114.

Services Impacted:  This outage should not affect the main Fenton building users, but will affect the library stacks.
