UPDATE 12/05/25:

• Wednesday, December 10, 2025 – Saw cutting of epoxy top, noise can be expected starting at 8:00 am and ending no later than 1:00 pm
• Thursday, December 11, 2025 – Core drilling of concrete, starting at 6:00 am and ending no later than 1:00 pm

Begin:  Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 7:00 am

End:      Friday, January 2, 2026, at 4:00 pm

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Streisinger Hall room 276

Scope:  The lab’s casework will be reconfigured in room 276.  This includes moving a sink and modifying existing casework. Demo, new finishes, plumbing and electrical will also be involved. The plumbing scope will require core drilling and a one-day plumbing shutdown that effects Streisinger Hall rooms 276, 275, 255, and 265. A separate notification will go out for the core drilling and plumbing shutdown once those are scheduled.

Services Impacted:

• Users can expect to see contractors working in room 276 and mechanical room 190.
• There will be periodic noise and vibrations as work continues.
• The core drilling and plumbing shutdown will be scheduled and a separate shutdown update will be sent out for this work.

UPDATE:
Domestic and industrial water have been restored to the building.

 

Begin:  Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 7:00 am

End:      Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 3:00 pm

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Streisinger Hall

Scope:  Due to a leak on the 1st floor 3″ domestic water line, the entire building will need to be shut down to fix this leak.

Services Impacted:  All water in the building will be offline:  domestic hot and cold water, industrial hot and cold water, auto claves, cage washers, restrooms, drinking fountains, and anything else that is connected to the domestic cold and hot water lines.

Special Instructions:  Please use the facilities in nearby buildings.

UPDATE 2/3/22: Due to a staff  shortage this shutdown has been delayed. An update will be sent out when it has been rescheduled.

Building(s) or Area(s) Impacted:  Columbia Hall

Scope:  In order to make a valve repair on the domestic cold water system, the domestic cold and hot water will be shut down.

Services Impacted:  All restroom sinks, toilets, urinals will be affected. This includes all the cold water and hot water to lab faucets, drinking fountains, fume hoods, and the safety eyewashes/showers.

The broken water line has been repaired and the water has been restored.

Scope:  EMERGENCY water shutdown due to a broken water line.  Expected to take approximately 2 hours to repair.

Services Impacted:  All water will be shut down in the building, including restrooms, sinks, and drinking fountains.

Scope:  Installation of a new valve for the lab cold water.

Services Impacted:  This shutdown will affect all lab sink faucets, ice makers, and the cold water for fume hoods.
