Steam has been brought back online.

End:      Wednesday, September 4, 2024 – approximately mid-day

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Pacific Hall

Scope:  The BAS (Building Automation System) private panel that monitors the heat exchanger system is not functioning correctly.  The heat exchanger system has been taken offline and will be down overnight.  Repairs will take place tomorrow morning and it is expected the system will be up and running by the afternoon.  An update will be sent when it has been restored to service.

Services Impacted:  The building will be cool tomorrow morning.  Please plan accordingly.

The steam shutdown has been rescheduled for next Tuesday, August 20th, at 3:00 pm and will end on Wednesday, August 21st, by 5:00 pm.    This will also affect the building heat in Columbia Hall.

Scope:  The steam system will be temporarily shut down to install a condensate blowdown valve for maintenance purposes.

Services Impacted:

  • Huestis Basement: Depending on the outside air temperature, the AHUs and LEFs that serve the basement may need to be shut down to avoid unheated air blowing into occupied spaces.
  • Huestis all floors: Domestic hot water will be offline during this outage.

Scope:  The HVAC system will be shut down to do necessary work on the building HVAC controls system.  This will require all building HVAC systems to be offline for 12 hours.

Services Impacted:

  • This will affect all heating, cooling, exhaust systems and fume hoods.
  • Fume hood sashes will need to be closed and containers within the fume hoods sealed prior to this date.
