12/16/24 Erb Memorial Union NW Exterior and University Street Forklift Work Advisory

The purpose of this email is to inform building occupants of the Erb Memorial Union, and nearby buildings, of the work being done at 7:30 am on Monday 12/16/24, outside of the EMU Fishbowl and Ballroom.

A trailer will be offloading material on University Street, with parking spaces on University Street within the work perimeter unavailable during the duration of the work – see diagram below.

A reach forklift will be hauling material.  A perimeter will be set up to control pedestrian traffic throughout the area. The forklift will be traveling on University Street northbound and onto the NW fishbowl sidewalk to access the offload area when hauling material with a flagger in front.

This may interrupt traffic briefly.  Please follow the directions given by the flaggers if driving in the area.

  • The photo on the left shows the work perimeter that will be taped off, restricting access to pedestrians and building occupants.  Please use the paths indicated by the green arrows to enter/exit the building.
  • The photo on the right shows the doors that will be temporarily restricted (red boxes). The west door entering from University Street will be fully available to use (green box).  In the event of an emergency, all building exits are available to use, including the exits depicted in the photo below.

Please feel free to reach out to Chad Well, EMU Building Superintendent, at (541-346-0692) for any questions.

Thank you!

As the UO welcomes new resident students to campus, Transportation Services would like to make you aware of some upcoming traffic and parking impacts that are expected the week of September 18th. To help accommodate this large move-in process, we encourage parkers to avoid parking lots around the residence halls this week.

Traffic impacts related to street closures near residence halls on 9/21 and 9/22:

  • Agate Street and portions of 13th, 15th, and 17th Avenues will be restricted to Move-in traffic and vehicles on UO business.
  • All 13th Ave. traffic must enter from 13th Ave. and Franklin Blvd. and should expect delays.
  • Permit holders will be able to access UO lots but should expect delays.
  • 13th Ave. between University and Agate Streets will be restricted to westbound traffic only.
  • The 13th Ave. Garage will be open to permit holders.
  • Lots 29A, 29D, 33, 36A and 37 will be reserved for Move in.
