Scope:  Fume hood exhaust fan EF-6 will be off-line for cleaning.

Services Impacted:  This will primarily affect hoods on the east side of building, but all fume hoods in Cascade may be affected with zero or reduced exhaust.

Special Instructions:  Fume hood sashes should be closed and containers within the fume hoods sealed before this date.

10/13/25 Onyx Bridge and Cascade Annex Generator Noise Advisory

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Onyx Bridge and Cascade Annex

Scope:  To support the Onyx Bridge EHS renovation project, a diesel generator will be placed on the sidewalk section between Cascade Annex East and Onyx Bridge.  The generator is expected to run off and on for a period of 5 or 6 hours.  A power cord covered with a cable protector will cross the adjacent sidewalk, running into Onyx Bridge.

Services Impacted:  No impediments to pedestrian traffic on the sidewalk or authorized work vehicles are expected.  Noise from the running generator can be expected in the surrounding area and nearby buildings.

Special Instructions:  Please report any Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) issues to Environmental Health and Safety.

7/25/25 Prince Lucien Campbell Men’s Restroom #126 Grout Work and Access Advisory

Scope:  We will be doing some grout sealing in the men’s restroom 126 at PLC.

Services Impacted:

  • Restroom may be blocked off depending on the sq/ft of area that needs to be repaired.
  • There may be some noise and odor.
  • The floor will need to stay water free while the sealant product is curing.

Special Instructions:  If restroom is blocked off, please use a facility on a different floor.

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Knight Library – north end of first floor commons (193B & 194B)

Scope:  Counters and wood grilles will be removed on the north wall of the first floor commons. New lighting, paint, and wood grille system will be installed, along with new furniture along the north wall and at the first row of columns.

Services Impacted:

  • Noise, dust, and odors may impact occupants during the construction period.
  • Return air vents will be deactivated during painting to minimize transference of paint fumes (currently scheduled for 7/29 & 7/30 but may change).

Scope:  To help ensure the safety and integrity of the property, all common area windows, including those in the bathrooms, should remain closed at all times.

Services Impacted:  Keeping these windows secured helps to deter unauthorized access and maintain a safe environment for everyone.

Special Instructions:  We ask that tenants make it a routine practice to close the windows in their private offices before leaving for the day.

Scope:  Contractors will be installing hot rubber waterproofing products at the upper levels of the new construction, on the south & west sides.

Services Impacted: Periodically through the work there could be a strong rubber odor in the adjacent areas.  See attached map.

8/31/24 – 9/15/24 Student Recreation Center Annual Maintenance Shutdown Advisory

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Student Recreation Center: Midtown Courts #138, Uptown Court #293, Oldtown Courts #42 & #44, Studio #41

Scope:  The Student Recreation Center will be closed August 31st – September 15th for annual maintenance. As part of facility maintenance, hardwood floors will be screened and sealed. An outside vendor (New Dimension Hardwood Floors) will be applying a new seal to select floors. This work will begin on September 3rd with minor elements extending past the facility closure date.

Services Impacted:  The floor sealant gives off an odor that some find unpleasant. Upon consultation with the Dept. of Human Physiology, this work has been strategically scheduled to minimize impacts.

2/23/24 Huestis Hall Sealant Application, Odor Advisory, and Exhaust Fan Shutdown

UPDATE:
The time has been extended an additional two hours, from 6:00 am to 11:00 am.

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Huestis Hall, Willamette Hall, Lokey Labs

Scope:  Graffiti proof sealant will be applied to the exterior brick on Level 1/ground floor of Huestis Hall. The early morning hours were selected to decrease the amount of disruption to occupants during a typical work day. This notice is subject to rescheduling if weather conditions are unfavorable for installation.

Outage affecting Huestis basement: AHU 1 and 2 and lab exhaust fans will be offline during this work activity.

Advisory to Lokey Labs and Willamette Hall: Neighbors of Huestis Hall may experience odors due the sealant material.
