CPFM Back 40 Thermal Tank Storage Project 1/31/22 – 7/1/23

UPDATE 2/27/23:

Groundwork continues on the Thermal Storage Tank project, restricted access in the area is ongoing.

Structural work between the tank and the power plant will begin soon as well.

Please continue to use the approved paths of travel that have been provided, and avoid the work area, as shown, throughout the duration of the project.

Groundwork continues on the Thermal Storage Tank project, restricting access in the area. The road west of the Central Plant is now completely closed due to ongoing construction.  Please continue to use the approved paths of travel that have been provided, and avoid the work area, as shown, throughout the duration of the project.

There will be additional work taking place that will push the completion date out to 2/28/23

UPDATE 3/24/22:
In addition to the monolithic pour occurring on 3/25/22, there will be ongoing daily concrete delivery’s (about 5 trucks worth) each weekday starting 3/28/22 until 4/6/22.

  • No services will be impacted, although there will be increased traffic around the CPFM compound for short durations.

UPDATE 3/23/22:
As part of the ongoing Thermal Energy Storage (TES) project, the tank contractor will be performing a monolithic pour this Friday, 3/25/22, which will entail consecutive concrete pours throughout the day.

  • Expected duration to be approximately 6 hours, with timing being dependent on availability of trucks.
  • There will be a high amount of traffic throughout the day, with trucks frequently traveling around the CPFM compound.

UPDATE 2/18/22:

  • Effective immediately, the Thermal Tank construction area is now closed to University traffic for the remainder of the project.
  • The project end date has been extended to September 30, 2022.
  • See traffic plan (below) for the agreed upon paths of travel as well as the work area to avoid.
  • Due to safety concerns and to protect the integrity of ongoing work, travel through the work area is unacceptable until further notice.

Susan Campbell Sidewalk Project 2/02/22 – 5/31/22

UPDATE 4/15/22:
Due to weather related delays, this project will be extended to 5/31/22.

 

UPDATE 3/24/22:

On Monday morning, 3/28/22, Pacific Excavation will be performing another large concrete pour for the Susan Campbell sidewalk project. The area will remain cordoned off and no impacts are anticipated.

 

UPDATE 3/17/22:
On Saturday, March 19th and Sunday, March 20th, Pacific Excavation will continue their work on the Susan Campbell sidewalk improvements project by building forms for future concrete pours. The site remains cordoned off and no impacts to the surrounding areas or facilities shall occur.

Pacific Excavation will be performing concrete pour(s) for the Susan Campbell sidewalk project, beginning at 5:00 am on Tuesday, March 8th, until completed.

Klamath Hall Drilling Noise Advisory 2/02/22

Services Impacted:  There will be no street closures, but extra flaggers will be employed to escort trucks in and out of the site.

Campus KN95 Distribution Information – as of 1-18-22

The University of Oregon is making KN95 masks available starting today, Tuesday, January 18, for faculty, staff, and students who do not have access to this type of mask. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated its guidance to encourage individuals to use the highest-protective quality mask available to them that that fits them well and that they will wear consistently.

Members of the UO faculty, staff, and student body can pick up three KN95 masks by showing their UO ID card at the following locations:

  • EMU – O Desk​
  • Lillis​ – Atrium reception desk
  • Knight Library​ – Check out and reserve desk
  • Tykeson Hall -​ Welcome desk
  • Price Science Commons​ – Service desk

Masks will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. They will be replenished as additional mask orders arrive.

Please note, KN95 masks can safely be reused up to five times. We strongly encourage that individuals use their masks with care and reuse them per the provided instructions. Additional information about how to ensure masks fit well is available on the COVID-19 Safety Resources website

We will provide this information in today’s COVID-19 Update. Please also share this information with supervisors and ask them to inform their employees about the availability of these masks.

Miller Theatre Emergency Power Shutdown 1/18/22

Special Instructions:  Please shut down and unplug all multi-function copier devices as well as any printers during scheduled power outages. The software on these machines can be negatively affected due to the power surge when the power is turned back on.  A power surge can corrupt the clone files in the machines and change preconfigured settings.

Lewis Integrative Science Building Room 229 Construction Work Advisory 1/25/22 – 2/18/22

Facilities Services personnel will be seen coming and going from the project site with tools and materials during the duration of the project.

Services Impacted:  Light construction noises (drilling, cutting) may be heard periodically in nearby rooms, primarily at the outset of the project.

PeaceHealth Fire Alarm Testing 1/13/22

Scope:  PeaceHealth will be conducting fire alarm testing throughout the entire PeaceHealth North Building.  They will be testing all alarms, strobes, etc.

  • They have asked that folks not be in the building during this time, but if you are there, you will not need to evacuate but it will be loud.

Details:  Horns, Strobes, and Speakers on the fire alarm system will not sound after the scheduled time. Provisions have been taken to monitor the building fire systems during this time and alarms that occur after the scheduled time should be considered real events and occupants should evacuate.

Oregon Hall North Lawn Vault Work and Parking Advisory 1/06/22

CPFM Warehouse Traffic Detour Advisory 1/12/22

Scope: Due to the delivery of a container spray booth, the north side of the CPFM Warehouse will be closed to parking and through traffic. This will allow a crane to offload and place the booth near the FS Paint Quonset.

Services Impacted: The parking lot and travel lanes north of the CPFM Warehouse Bldg. 130 will not be accessible, requiring traffic to detour.

Special Instructions: Traffic for Stores will be rerouted through the east gate, past ZIRC, and out to Riverfront Parkway via the gravel road south of the greenhouses.
