UPDATE 2/27/23:
Groundwork continues on the Thermal Storage Tank project, restricted access in the area is ongoing.
Structural work between the tank and the power plant will begin soon as well.
Please continue to use the approved paths of travel that have been provided, and avoid the work area, as shown, throughout the duration of the project.

Groundwork continues on the Thermal Storage Tank project, restricting access in the area. The road west of the Central Plant is now completely closed due to ongoing construction. Please continue to use the approved paths of travel that have been provided, and avoid the work area, as shown, throughout the duration of the project.
UPDATE 9/29/22:
There will be additional work taking place that will push the completion date out to 2/28/23
UPDATE 3/24/22:
In addition to the monolithic pour occurring on 3/25/22, there will be ongoing daily concrete delivery’s (about 5 trucks worth) each weekday starting 3/28/22 until 4/6/22.
- No services will be impacted, although there will be increased traffic around the CPFM compound for short durations.
UPDATE 3/23/22:
As part of the ongoing Thermal Energy Storage (TES) project, the tank contractor will be performing a monolithic pour this Friday, 3/25/22, which will entail consecutive concrete pours throughout the day.
- Expected duration to be approximately 6 hours, with timing being dependent on availability of trucks.
- There will be a high amount of traffic throughout the day, with trucks frequently traveling around the CPFM compound.
UPDATE 2/18/22:
- Effective immediately, the Thermal Tank construction area is now closed to University traffic for the remainder of the project.
- The project end date has been extended to September 30, 2022.
- See traffic plan (below) for the agreed upon paths of travel as well as the work area to avoid.
- Due to safety concerns and to protect the integrity of ongoing work, travel through the work area is unacceptable until further notice.

Building(s) or Area(s) Impacted: CPFM Back 40 (South west of CPS)
Scope: Due to the Thermal Tank Storage Project occurring in the “Back 40” behind the Central Power Station, there will be ongoing general construction activities in the area, including earthwork, large concrete pours, and deliveries. Duration of these activities is expected to be 7 months.
Services Impacted: There should be little to no impact other than construction noise and increased traffic activity in the area.
