Building(s) or Area(s) Affected: Huestis Hall, Lokey Labs, Streisinger Hall, Klamath Hall, and Willamette Hall
Scope: As part of the Huestis Renovation project, there will be a series of electrical shutdowns necessary to make the final connections for the project. These shutdowns will impact Huestis Hall and neighboring science buildings. The first series of shutdowns will occur on November 3 and November 6. Affected services and durations are listed by date and building below.
Friday, November 3, 5:00 am – 9:00 am – Electrical to Huestis Hall, Lokey Labs. RO supply to Klamath Hall, Streisinger Hall, Willamette Hall
Huestis Hall: Electrical shutdown will affect all equipment on normal power during the transfer of normal loads to generator back up. All services provided by steam, chilled water, HVAC supply and exhaust will be affected during the transitions from normal to backup and again. Huestis RO faucets will be offline.
Network servers will be supported by local UPS units and battery panels.
Lokey Labs: Electrical shutdown will affect all equipment and systems running on normal power in rooms 76, 87 and 96. Occupants are advised to power down all equipment in rooms 76, 87 and 96. Chilled water will be offline. Standby will also be offline and unavailable for this duration.
Klamath Hall, Streisinger Hall, and Willamette Hall: RO water supply will not be available as booster pump 1 will be offline in Huestis Hall during this outage.
Monday, November 6, 6:00 am – 10:00 pm – Huestis Hall, Lokey Labs, and Streisinger Hall – Standby Power outage
The standby power source will be offline for the duration of this shutdown. Users are not expected to experience any impacts during this outage but should be aware that the redundant power source is not available.
Copier Instructions: Please shut down and unplug all multi-function copier devices as well as any printers during scheduled power outages. The software on these machines can be negatively affected due to the power surge when the power is turned back on. A power surge can corrupt the clone files in the machines and change preconfigured settings. For questions, please contact Kati Kronholm at 541-346-5370 or katik@uoregon.edu. For non-copier questions, please reach out to the contact person listed below.
