Scope: Windows at the Erb Memorial Union’s McMillan Gallery will be replaced during winter break.

Services Impacted:

  • The work will include barricades within the gallery space and a boom lift with fencing at the ground level entry ways.
  • Entries will be blocked as the boom lift moves from north to south replacing windows overhead.
  • Access point to remain open public.  See pics below.

POSTPONED – Lot 2 Construction Activity and Access Advisory

UPDATE 11/08/23:
Due to parts delay and scheduling conflicts with Facilities, this work has been postponed.  A new notification will be sent prior to starting the project.

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Lot 2, CPFM Warehouse Bldg. 136, CPFM Administrative Quonset, CPFM Compound

Scope:  Construction associated with the replacement of the vehicle and pedestrian gates at the main entrance to the CPFM compound will begin November 13th.  This will result in intermittent closure of the main entrance while work is being performed in the roadway (asphalt cutting, excavation, installation of electrical lines, new fence panels, backfill, and resurfacing). Vehicle plates will be used to allow travel over open trenches when work is not actively being performed in the roadway.  The schedule remains fluid based on weather and contractor availability. Notification updates will be provided as the project progresses.

Services Impacted:

  • When access is restricted, vehicles should use the west entrance to the compound.
  • Caution is advised as vehicles will be traveling in both directions and the roadway narrows to one lane in some areas.

Scope:  The marquee/video board at the corner of Villard St. and Franklin Blvd., near the east entrance to Matthew Knight Arena, will be replaced next week.

Services Impacted:

  • Access to MKA and along the sidewalk will be maintained at all times.
  • The contractor will coordinate with Athletics on game days to avoid any disruptions from the construction work.
  • Noise is to be expected during this activity.

Scope:  Due to a crane pick, the east side of lot 12B (shown as pictured) will not be available for use during this time.

  • The area will be cordoned off, but please be sure to maintain your awareness in the surrounding area and to take alternative paths as needed.
  • This will also affect the adjacent loading dock.

The elevator has been repaired and restored to service.

Building Impacted:  Lillis Hall

Scope:  The Atrium elevator is offline and parts have been ordered.  Repairs are expected to take place on Monday.   An update will be sent when services have been restored.

Services Impacted: The elevator is currently out-of-order.  Please use the other elevators in the building.

10/30/23 – 11/03/23 Johnson Hall Women’s Restroom #006 Shutdown

UPDATE 11/09/23:
The initial ceiling repair took place yesterday by one of our night crew technicians. The remainder of the work will be done with the night crew and not impact occupants.  We will make sure that the restroom is fully accessible today for use including the sinks that were blocked off.

Scope:  Due to water intrusion Restroom 006 will be closed for repairs.

Work is almost complete and the main entry to the CPFM Administrative Quonset building is now accessible.
The bike rack will be returned to the west side of the Quonset on Wednesday.

Scope:  The main entry will be closed for several days during repair work to the west overhang.  The entry at the southwest corner will be programmed to stay open during regularly scheduled work hours.

  • The bike rack will be relocated to the front of Stores (CPFM Warehouse), on the north side, during this time.

Scope:  Demolition of a wall and abatement of flooring will take place in rooms 144, 144A and 144B. There may be noise associated with the demolition and abatement.

Services Impacted:  The rooms most likely impacted by the noise are: 246, 247, 248, 249, 143, and 142. We are working with the contractor to limit most noise to early morning prior to classes in 143.

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Riverfront Parkway, Knight Campus Building 1, Millrace Garage, 1600 Millrace & other buildings on Millrace Drive.

Scope:  Tuesday, October 17th, a concrete pour is scheduled at the Knight Campus Building 2 construction site.

Services Impacted:

  • There will be frequent concrete truck traffic on Riverfront Parkway both northbound from Franklin Blvd. and southbound onto Franklin Blvd for the duration of the day.
  • Hoffman will have flaggers located along Riverfront Parkway to assist with traffic.
  • No roads will be closed.

10/18/23 Lawrence Hall Electrical Shutdown

UPDATE:
To ensure a smooth transition back into the school day, the electrical shutdown has been rescheduled for Wednesday, October 18th.  The time will remain the same (5:00 am to 7:00 am).

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Lawrence Hall

Scope:  New electrical panel in Lawrence 188 must be tied in to existing, main electrical panel in Lawrence Hall.  Work will be performed early in the morning.

Services Impacted:  This will shutdown the lighting, electrical outlets, elevators, BAS controls fire alarm panels and IT closets within the building.

Special Instructions:  Please shut down and unplug all multi-function copier devices as well as any printers during scheduled power outages. The software on these machines can be negatively affected due to the power surge when the power is turned back on.  A power surge can corrupt the clone files in the machines and change preconfigured settings.  For questions, please contact Kati Kronholm at 541-346-5370 or katik@uoregon.edu.  For non-copier questions, please reach out to the contact person listed below.

Tomorrow, one of the two HVAC units for Cascade Hall will be shut off, affecting the entire building, particularly the southern half.

  • This will affect the walking routes in the vicinity.
  • Temporary mulch paths with fencing will be installed, and remain for the duration of the project.
  • Walkways are anticipated to be reopened during the Spring of 2025.

The north entrance of Lillis will be closed from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm today for the final cleaning of the new tiles.

Due to unforeseen subsurface conditions and weather, the North Lillis entrance will now be completely open October 9, 2023.
