7/23/24 Streisinger Hall Domestic and Industrial Water Shutdown

UPDATE:
Domestic and industrial water have been restored to the building.

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Streisinger Hall

Scope:  Due to a leak on the 1st floor 3″ domestic water line, the entire building will need to be shut down to fix this leak.

Services Impacted:  All water in the building will be offline:  domestic hot and cold water, industrial hot and cold water, auto claves, cage washers, restrooms, drinking fountains, and anything else that is connected to the domestic cold and hot water lines.

Special Instructions:  Please use the facilities in nearby buildings.

Postponed – Knight Library Elevator #8 Shutdown (was 7/15/24 – 7/17/24)

UPDATE:
This work has been postponed and the new date is yet to be determined.  An update will be sent when it has been rescheduled.

 

UPDATE:
Until further notice, ADA access into Knight Library is through the west entrance of the testing center.
The contractor will have signs directing pedestrians to the alternate ADA entrance.  –  See attached map

7/24/24 Erb Memorial Union and Jane Sanders Stadium Electrical Shutdown

Begin:  Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 5:00 am

End:      Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 7:00 am

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Erb Memorial Union and Jane Sanders Stadium

Scope:  The feeder that provides power to Erb Memorial Union and Jane Sanders is failing and needs replaced. Utilities and Energy will provide a jumper to refeed both buildings until the feeder can be replaced in the near future.

Services Impacted:

  • The main electrical system will be offline at Jane Sanders Stadium but the 480 Volt will remain on at the EMU.  The 480 Volt is a separate feeder, so the entire building (EMU) will not be off.
  • Standby power will remain energized during the shutdown.

Special Instructions:  If you have concerns about accessing your workplace when elevator services are impacted, please contact your supervisor to find an appropriate accommodation.

Additional Instructions:  Please shut down and unplug all multi-function copier devices as well as any printers during scheduled power outages. 7/16/24 Willamette Hall Crane Work and Access Advisory

UPDATE:
We have had a change in timing.  We will be blocking East 13th Avenue and doing the crane pick between 5:00 am and 8:00 am Tuesday morning, July 16th.
During this 3-hour window, roadblocks will be set up on East 13th Ave. just to the west of Carson Hall and toward the western end of Willamette Hall.

Scope:  We are using a crane to lift materials for a research platform onto the roof of Willamette Hall. The crane will be parked on E. 13th between Willamette Hall and Huestis Hall, partially blocking 13th. One lane of traffic will remain open.

Services Impacted:

  • The north sidewalk along E. 13th Ave. between Willamette and Huestis will be affected.
  • E. 13th Avenue will be blocked off. narrow down to one lane of traffic where the crane is staged.
  • There will be some noise associated with the delivery of the materials for the platform on the east roof of Willamette.

Western Asphalt will be back on Monday morning, August 5th, to paint the EV and ADA spaces.  The lot will be shut down Sunday night and closed throughout the day on Monday.  However, once the paint is dry, the signs will be removed and the lot will be reopened.
