Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Klamath Hall – rooms 245, 249, 249A, plus hallways H207 and H208.

Scope:  The large 6-foot fume hood will be replaced in room 245. A small section of the existing exhaust ductwork will be replaced in adjacent rooms and in hall H208. Ceiling panels in hall H208 will be removed to facilitate the work.  Rooms 245, 249, and 249A are currently unoccupied.

Services Impacted:

  • Overhead work will take place in hall H208.
  • Access to room 255 will not be restricted.
  • The pathway through hall H207 may be restricted for a few hours during the work; a schedule update will be provided.
  • Please consider alternative routes around H207 during this brief period.

9/22/25 – 1/26/26 Onyx Bridge Rooms #072 – #076 Renovation Project

UPDATE 10/22/25:
On Monday, October 27th, from 6:00 am to 8:00 am, Harvey & Price will shut off the fire sprinkler and put the fire alarm into test mode in the EHS renovation project area only. No other occupied spaces will be impacted.

Horns, Strobes, and Speakers on the fire alarm system will not sound after the scheduled time. Provisions have been taken to monitor the building fire systems during this time and alarms that occur after the scheduled time should be considered real events and occupants should evacuate as usual per the U of O Emergency Procedures.

Scope:  The Gymnasium Improvement Project includes:

  • Basement level – upgrading vertical access from grade to basement, updating basement restrooms for all user access, adding changing rooms, shower rooms, lockers, new drinking fountain with bottle fill, updating/refreshing the weight room.
  • First floor – new drinking fountain with bottle fill, updating/refreshing the main lobby.
  • General building – new hot water heater.

Services Impacted:

  • Facilities staff located in the basement will not be able to use the stairs or areas where cordoned off for scheduled construction.
  • Users of the first-floor gym will still have access.
  • There will be no hot water in the building due to the scheduled plumbing work.
  • A portion of the east/west sidewalk at south side of building and a portion of the parking spaces at south side of building will be affected.

9/02/25 – 11/21/25 CPFM Administration Quonset 2nd Floor Remodeling Advisory

UPDATE #2  10/30/25:
Tomorrow, Friday, October 31st, Air Inc. will be balancing the HVAC system for both the 1st and 2nd floors. They will be in each room at least twice and potentially up to four times.
– Also, the completion date has been extended to Friday, November 21st.

UPDATE #1 10/30/25:
The contractor just informed us that he will be cutting some metal tabs in the wall upstairs.  It is expected to be very loud.  Depending on the type of metal they are made of will determine how long the noise will last, potentially up to 30 minutes.

UPDATE 10/24/25:
UO Network Services has installed one of the new wireless access points outside of room 104 but will get the remaining two in next week, between Monday, 10/27/25 and Thursday, 10/30/25.

UPDATE 10/20/25:
UO Network Services will be installing three (3) new wireless hubs on the first floor outside of rooms 104 and 120 as well as in the main lobby near the reception desk.

  • Workers will not be in the area the entire duration.
  • The dates and times given are a window when Network Services could be performing work.
  • There may be some noise and passageways could be blocked.

UPDATE 10/14:
The contractor will begin cutting into the roof for the two new skylights.  Loud noise can be expected for roughly an hour and half.  They are planning to start by 10:30 am.

UPDATE 10/01:
Steam / chilled water lines will be replaced in rooms 210A, 210, and 212.
There should be no impact to the heating / cooling in the rest of the building.
There will be construction noise associated with the pipe replacement and increased foot traffic in the building.
Work will be done by Harvey & Price and Preferred Construction.

UPDATE 9/15:
The contractor just notified us that they will begin staging today near the south side of the building, by the picnic table.  It is also expected that the construction noise levels will begin to elevate in the building, potentially this afternoon.

UPDATE 9/04:
Abatement work will begin on Tuesday, September 9th at 8:30 am and will end on Friday, September 12th at 3:30 pm.
Work will be performed by Asbestos Abatement Contracting, LLC.

UPDATE 8/29:
BELCO Electric will begin removing electrical and conduit this afternoon 8/29/25.  The abatement work has been postponed and will now begin Monday, September 8, 2025 at 8:00 am.

UPDATE 8/26:
Campus Planning is relocating to Rainier during the renovation of their space on the 2nd floor of Building #136. Moving will occur Thursday, August 28th from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon.  Please expect increased activity at both sets of stairs in the Quonset.

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Johnson Hall – 2nd floor lobby, stairs to 2nd floor, and all 2nd floor spaces, specifically rooms 201, 202, 202A, 203, 203A, 204, 205, and 206 will be inaccessible for the duration of the carpet installation.

Scope:  The lobby carpet on the 2nd floor of Johnson Hall is being replaced. We anticipate the work taking the week of July 14 to July 18. If the contractor runs into problems removing the horsehair padding, there will be an extension into the following week, July 21 to 23.

Services Impacted:  The rooms listed above will in inaccessible to everyone. The remaining rooms on the 2nd floor can be accessed via the elevator although there will be noise and potential odors while work is being done.

UPDATE 10/16/25:
The end date for the north building has been extended to Friday, October 31st, and post construction will include landscape repair.

  • Construction fencing and scaffolding have been removed.
  • Quiet construction work is to be expected for the duration of the effort with work in apartment interiors.
  • Landscape repair will start on October 20th and continue to completion up to October 31st.  Garden beds surrounding both north and south buildings will get refreshed.
  • Additional tree stump grinding has been scheduled for Monday, October 20th.

  • N/S pedestrian access shall remain.
  • Pedestrian access at the sidewalk to the North of the North Holman Apt building shall remain will be closed for continuation of work on the North building.
  • Accessible entry to East Hall – please use building entrance at NE 30th Ave up through 9/16. Main entry to East Hall – shall remain open.
  • There will be construction related noise for the duration of the effort.
  • Tree trimming/removal/chipping by Owner on 6/26 and stump grinding the week of 9/15 will also be noisy.

6/17/25 – 9/12/25 Lawrence Hall Reroofing Advisory

UPDATE 7/15/25:
Due to the Lawrence Reroof project, permanent fall protection equipment will be installed.  The installation will take place in the 3rd floor Lawrence hallway and is expected to take 5-6 hours to complete. This work will begin at 7:00 am on Wednesday 7/16. Sounds of electric drills and other equipment should be expected.

UPDATE 6/13/25:
Attached please find the first phase of construction impacts to the ingress and egress pathways around a section of Lawrence.  Similar updates for the next two sections will be forthcoming.  Construction on the first section of roof will commence June 19 (as listed below), but setup will begin on Tuesday 6/17.

UPDATE 7/28:
Due to the number of repairs needed on the Millrace Studio buildings, the end date shall be moved from August 4th to August 15th.

  • Starting Monday, August 4th, contractors will be pressure washing and painting the eves of all three buildings.
  • On Monday, August 11th, contractors will be installing new gutters and downspouts which will take several days to complete.
  • Parking Lot 3A will be opened back up on or before Friday, August 15th.

Scope:  Staircase levels 2 and 3 will be closed to allow access to replace a window.

Services Impacted:  The elevator and the east and west staircases will remain open and available to use as an alternate to the central staircase.

5/20/25 – 5/23/25 CPFM Warehouse Fleet Services Lift Installation and Noise Advisory

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  CPFM Warehouse Building #130

Scope:  A second lift is being installed in the Fleet Services location which will involve the cutting and chipping of concrete.

Services Impacted:  Very loud noise is to be expected during the concrete work.

Special Instructions:  The lane between the Utilities & Energy building and the CPFM Warehouse may be affected at times related to the staging of the construction vehicles.  During that time, please reroute around the power plant.

1st Installation – room 311:  Monday, May 19, 2025, at 7:00 am to Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 3:00 pm

2nd Pod – room 118:    Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 7:00 am to Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 3:00 pm

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Ford Alumni Center

Scope: A small meetings Framery Pod will be installed on the south third floor landing (room 311) 5/19/25 – 5/20/25 and single occupant Framery Pods are being installed in room 118 to provide additional workspaces 6/04/25 – 6/05/25.

Services Impacted:  Bolting the pod into the floor will be loud and may create a small amount of dust. The construction of the pod itself will likely also create some noise and possibly odors.

Scope:  As part of Fall Creek Farm and Nursery’s ongoing construction on the west side of the 1st floor, McKenzie Commercial will have contractors onsite relocating horn strobes inside there suite.

Services Impacted:  This work should not impact other building occupants. However, an alarm may sound in the building’s main lobby. If this happens, occupants should notify Work Control at 541-346-2319.
