11/12/25 CPFM Administration Building Picnic Table Area Level 2 Charging Station Installation Advisory
Posted on

Begin:  Wednesday, November 12, 2025

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  CPFM Administration Building Picnic Table Area

Scope:  Exciting news for the University of Oregon’s Campus Planning and Facilities Management (CPFM) team: a Level 2 charging station is being installed for the new Natural Areas Program Polaris XD. The charging station will be located just south of the CPFM Administration Building, near the picnic table, which remains at the south-east corner of the lot. During the 2024–2025 school year, 363 volunteers came together to remove more than 24 truckloads of invasive species from UO’s natural areas. In addition to this critical restoration work, the team planted 194 trees and shrubs friendly to pollinators and wildlife, helping to enhance biodiversity on campus. The program also hosted 21 events, providing hands-on educational experiences for 384 participants. To help meet the demands of this increased capacity, the program is piloting the use of an electric Polaris XD Pro—similar to the Kubota UTVs used by the Landscape and Grounds team. This vehicle will be used to transport invasive plant material, native species, water, and educational materials in and out of the natural areas efficiently and sustainably. This milestone reflects the ongoing collaboration between CPFM staff, faculty, students, and dedicated volunteers. Their shared commitment to sustainability and education continues to drive meaningful progress. Here’s to another year of innovation, impact, and community in the natural areas!

Services Impacted:  Users of the CPFM picnic table may notice the presence of the Polaris.

11/10/25 – 11/12/25 Campus Wide Veteran’s Day Door Lock Procedure
Posted on

Facilities Liaisons:

The purpose of this email is to share details of the door lock procedure for the Veterans Day  academic break schedule for 2025. This procedure is designed to protect against theft and vandalism while also providing access to specific public facing buildings on the UO’s campuses, as follows:

  • Most university building doors will be locked during observed holidays and academic breaks (including Veterans Day 2025) as defined below.
  • Some buildings with public facing services may not be subject to the locking schedule, especially during this academic break. These buildings are listed on the website in the Exceptions list.
  • Faculty, staff, and student employees should already have either keys or prox card access to enter buildings during these times. Departments have authorized individuals who can request access for those who may need it for the Break period.
  • No changes will be made to regular individual access, so anyone with existing access will still be able to access their normal locations.

Please note that during the Veterans Day Break period (i.e., closing time on Monday, November 10th until Wednesday, November 12th at 7:00 A.M.) most buildings on campus will be closed and locked.

Authorized individuals may request exceptions to the locking procedure by meeting specific criteria listed in the procedure. Requests for exceptions can be submitted to FASS IT by emailing fass@uoregon.edu, providing as much advance notice as possible, and noting which exception criteria their situation(s) meets. FASS-IT will consult with the Campus Vulnerability Assessment Team on approval of exemptions.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. My email address is: carl.peaster@uopd.org

Thank you!
