Scope:  Domestic hot and cold water will be shut down to allow for final connections as part of the Huestis Hall Deferred Maintenance project.

Services Impacted:  Restroom toilets and sinks, break room sinks, handwashing sinks, and drinking fountains throughout the basement facility will not be available during this time.

Special Instructions:  Please use the facilities in nearby buildings.

Scope:  The domestic hot water will be shut down while repairs are made to the sink in the basement room 33.

Services Impacted:

  • This will affect all restrooms, custodial sinks, and any other domestic hot water source within the building.
  • Lab industrial hot water will not be effected by this shut down.

Scope:  Renovation work will take place with the existing plumbing that services some fixtures in the building.

Services Impacted:  This will shut down the domestic hot and cold water, affecting only room #40 in the SRC.

10/12/23 – 10/16/23 Prince Lucien Campbell Emergency Steam Shutdown

Repairs are now complete, and steam has been restored to the building.

UPDATE:

Repairs are still ongoing and not expected to be complete until Monday.  A notice will be sent when the steam has been turned back on.

Scope:  Due to two valves failing on the steam hydronics, an emergency steam shut down is required while the parts are being rebuilt.

9/06/23 Agate Hall Domestic Cold and Hot Water Potential Emergency Shutdown

Domestic hot and cold water has been restored

RESCHEDULED:
Work has been rescheduled for Wednesday morning, September 6th.

 

Begin:  September 1, Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 7:30 am

End:      September 1, Wednesday, September 6, 2023, to approximately 1:00 pm

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Agate Hall

Scope:  Plumbing and wall repairs in the 222 area are scheduled for next week. This may require an emergency shutdown of the building water; we will not know until plumbers are able to open the wall and assess to determine if an isolation valve can be utilized. If a shutdown occurs, it is expected to last for less than 3 hours and a new notification will be sent.

Services Impacted:  The domestic hot and cold water may be offline for approximately 3 hours, dependent on what is discovered during the repair.

This shutdown is also affecting the north side of the building, too.

  • Light construction noises including cutting and drilling is expected to occur infrequently and intermittently during normal business hours over the course of the project.
  • The printer in the room can still be used.

Services Impacted:  This will shut down the domestic water line to the LLC North building only, affecting drinking fountains, sinks, and restrooms.

While repairs are made to the sewage lift station, seven parking spaces (#8 – #14) will be blocked off for the contractor’s pump truck.  These spots are located directly in front of the east entrance.

  • Slight noise from grinding and odor from welding will occur.
