1/08/24 Huestis Hall Basement Multiple System Shutdown

This shutdown was not able to occur as scheduled due to additional coordination requirements.  It will now take place on January 8th, in the previously scheduled time slot of 8:00 am to 12:00 noon.

12/15/23 – 12/18/23 Student Recreation Center and Esslinger Hall Mechanical Heating Equipment Shutdown

Due to the repair needing more curing time, this shutdown has been extended until Monday morning at 8:00 am.

Scope:  The mechanical heating equipment that services the Student Rec Center and Esslinger Hall will be shut down to repair a broken pneumatic line in the SRC room #40.

Services Impacted:  This will affect the compressed air, domestic hot water, and HVAC air supply.  Noise can be expected during this time.

11/21/23 Walton Buildings B & C Domestic Hot Water Shutdown

Scope:  We need to shut down steam to buildings B and C to replace a faulty steam valve in the PRV.  Housing prefers to do this when fewer occupants are in buildings due to Thanksgiving Break.

Services Impacted:  Both buildings’ domestic heating water steam skid will be affected. Occupants may notice a slight drop in domestic hot water temperature during the shutdown.

Scope:  Domestic hot and cold water will be shut down to allow for final connections as part of the Huestis Hall Deferred Maintenance project.

Services Impacted:  Restroom toilets and sinks, break room sinks, handwashing sinks, and drinking fountains throughout the basement facility will not be available during this time.

Special Instructions:  Please use the facilities in nearby buildings.

10/12/23 – 10/16/23 Prince Lucien Campbell Emergency Steam Shutdown

Repairs are now complete, and steam has been restored to the building.

Repairs are still ongoing and not expected to be complete until Monday.  A notice will be sent when the steam has been turned back on.

9/06/23 Agate Hall Domestic Cold and Hot Water Potential Emergency Shutdown

Work has been rescheduled for Wednesday morning, September 6th.

 

Begin:  September 1, Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 7:30 am

End:      September 1, Wednesday, September 6, 2023, to approximately 1:00 pm

Scope:  Plumbing and wall repairs in the 222 area are scheduled for next week. This may require an emergency shutdown of the building water; we will not know until plumbers are able to open the wall and assess to determine if an isolation valve can be utilized. If a shutdown occurs, it is expected to last for less than 3 hours and a new notification will be sent.

Services Impacted:  The domestic hot and cold water may be offline for approximately 3 hours, dependent on what is discovered during the repair.

  • The printer in the room can still be used.

While repairs are made to the sewage lift station, seven parking spaces (#8 – #14) will be blocked off for the contractor’s pump truck.  These spots are located directly in front of the east entrance.
