8/16/24 and 8/23/24 Central Power Station South Driveway Closure Advisory

UPDATE:
The Central Power Station exterior maintenance work required an additional day to complete this project.  The driveway will be closed again this coming Friday, August 23rd, from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

 

Begin:  Friday, August 16, 2024, at 7:00 am

End:      Friday, August 16, 2024, at 2:00 pm

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  CPFM Compound – Central Power Station south driveway

Scope:  Due to utility maintenance activities on the south side of the Central Power Station building, the driveway along the south of the building will be closed to vehicle traffic.

Services Impacted:  Minimal impact expected. CPFM vehicle traffic on the east side of the Central Power Station will not be affected.

Scope:  The Collier House Deck floor will be refinished.

Services Impacted: The deck and west entrance will be inaccessible during the listed times.

Special Instructions:  Please use the south entrance during this time.

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Knight Campus 2 and surrounding area

Scope:  Contractors will be installing hot rubber waterproofing products at the upper levels of the new construction, on the south & west sides.

Services Impacted:  Periodically through the work there could be a strong rubber odor in the adjacent areas – see map below.

8/15/24 – 8/16/24 Friendly Hall Bore Hole Drilling Advisory

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:

Scope:  In preparation for the Friendly Hall Deferred Maintenance Project, geotech consultants will be working in the area around the building. A total of 3 borings will be completed with a small drill rig. The work should take 1 day to complete, and the start date will depend on the schedule of completion in southeast campus.

Services Impacted:

  • Drilling related noises can be expected.
  • Sidewalk and parking access may also be affected.

8/05/24 – 8/06/24 Lillis Hall Emergency AHU-3 Shutdown

UPDATE:
A second coat of sealant needed to be used on the leak.  The AHU unit is expected to be returned to service around 12:00 noon today.

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Lillis Hall

Scope:  Due to a leak in the seam of the AHU-3 unit on Friday, repair work has been taking place today.  They are hoping to finish it this afternoon.  An update will be sent when services have been restored.

Services Impacted:  Cooling will be affected on the 3rd and 4th floors east side of the building.

8/05/24 HEDCO Education Emergency Hot Water Shutdown

UPDATE:
The hot water has been restored to service.

 

Begin:  Monday, August 5, 2024 – effective immediately

End:      Monday, August 5, 2024 – approximately 12:00 noon

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  HEDCO

Scope:  Due to a leak, the hot water has been shut down to make repairs.  An update will be sent when the hot water has been returned to service.

Services Impacted:  Only the hot water is offline.  The cold water is not affected.

8/5/24 – 8/7/24 1600 Millrace North Sidewalks Pressure Washing Advisory

End:      Wednesday, August 7, at 3:00 pm

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Sidewalks on the North Side of 1600 Millrace.

Scope:  All sidewalks on the north side of 1600 Millrace will be pressure washed.

Services Impacted:

  • The northeast entrance of the building will be inaccessible for short periods while cleaning entry, please use the southwest entrance if necessary.
  • Parking spaces in front of the sidewalk will be temporarily unavailable for short periods to wash the curbs.
  • Noise is to be expected during these times.

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Streisinger Hall

Scope:  The passenger elevator has been shut down due to issues with the emergency phone. An Otis technician will be onsite tomorrow to repair the emergency phone. A notice will be sent when services have been restored.

Services Impacted:  The elevator is out of service.  Please use the elevators in the adjacent buildings:  Huestis Hall, Willamette Hall, or Lewis Integrative Science Building.

Special Instructions:  If you have concerns about accessing your workplace when elevator services are impacted, please contact your supervisor to find an appropriate accommodation.
