12/12/23 Huestis Hall Basement and Lokey Labs Fire Alarm System Testing Advisory

Begin:  Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 6:00 am

End:      Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 8:00 am

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Huestis Hall basement and Lokey Labs

Scope:  Fire alarm system will be in test mode as contractors test the fire alarm system due to changes from the Huestis Hall project.

Services Impacted:  Strobes and audible alarms will annunciate throughout Lokey Labs during this test period. Contractor will provide fire watch throughout Lokey Labs and the Huestis Basement.

Details:  Horns, Strobes, and Speakers on the fire alarm system will not sound after the scheduled time. Provisions have been taken to monitor the building fire systems during this time and alarms that occur after the scheduled time should be considered real events and occupants should evacuate as usual per the U of O Emergency Procedures.

12/20/23 New Walton (B&C) and Hayward Field Standby Electrical Power Shutdown

Begin:  Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 7:30 am

End:      Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 12:00 noon

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  New Walton (B&C) and Hayward Field.

Scope:  To upgrade the electrical service to the new Walton, all standby power (only) will be down to the new residence hall buildings B&C and Hayward Field.

Services Impacted:  Regular power will not be affected during this shutdown.

Special Instructions:  Please shut down and unplug all multi-function copier devices as well as any printers during scheduled power outages. The software on these machines can be negatively affected due to the power surge when the power is turned back on.  A power surge can corrupt the clone files in the machines and change preconfigured settings.  For questions, please contact Kati Kronholm at 541-346-5370 or katik@uoregon.edu.  For non-copier questions, please reach out to the contact person listed below.

Scope:  Heating/cooling supply and lab exhaust will be offline throughout the Huestis basement.

Services Impacted:  This will affect chilled water, cooling, exhaust, heating, and HVAC air supply.

12/11/23 – 12/22/23 Erb Memorial Union NW Entrance Access and Window Replacement Advisory

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Erb Memorial Union – NW entrance at base of the amphitheater

Scope: Windows at the Erb Memorial Union’s McMillan Gallery will be replaced during winter break.

Services Impacted:

  • The work will include barricades within the gallery space and a boom lift with fencing at the ground level entry ways.
  • Entries will be blocked as the boom lift moves from north to south replacing windows overhead.
  • Access point to remain open public.  See pics below.

9/7/23 Earl Hall and Straub Hall Compressed Air Shutdown

Begin:  Thursday, September 7  2023, at 7:00 am

Scope:  Due to broken pipe supports on a tunnel compressed air line, we will shut down the service compressed air to disconnect the pipe and support it correctly.

Services Impacted:

  • Compressed Air will be offline during this time.
  • Work will take place in Mechanical Room 001C.

7/31/23 – 9/8/23 Student Recreation Center Turf Field 3 and 4 Resurfacing Advisory

Begin:  Monday, July 31, 2023

End:     Friday, September 8, 2023

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Hayward Field and Jane Sanders Stadium

Scope:  Replacement of artificial turf on the Student Recreation Center fields 3 and 4. Adjoining areas will be closed to the community for the duration of the project.

Services Impacted:  The Outdoor Tennis Courts and the square track around the tennis courts and Artificial Turf Field 3 will be inaccessible during this time.

6/14/23 – 6/15/23 – 1715 Franklin North Wing Drainage System Shutdown

UPDATE:
While repairs are made to the sewage lift station, seven parking spaces (#8 – #14) will be blocked off for the contractor’s pump truck.  These spots are located directly in front of the east entrance.

Scope:  Due to sewage lift station repair/upgrade, all drain piping will be out of service on the first and second floor of the north wing until repairs are complete.

Services Impacted:  This will impact usage of domestic hot and cold water in all sinks, toilets, urinals, and drinking fountains.

Special InstructionsPlease use restrooms and sinks in the south wing.

3/27/23 – 3/31/23 Knight Library Noise Advisory

Begin:  Monday, March 27, 2023, at 7:00 am

End:      Friday, March 31, 2023,  at 5:00 pm

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Knight Library

Scope:  Fall protection anchors will be installed on the south roof of the building.  Twenty four separate holes will be drilled, causing the noise to transmit throughout the building during this time.

Services Impacted:  Noise is to be expected while the drilling takes place in the concrete roof deck.
