UPDATE 2/03/23:
The north doors to Johnson Hall will be available to use after 4:00 pm today (2/3/23). Please stay out of the taped off areas on both the east and west side of the porch. Thanks to our campus partners in CPFM for quickly securing a safe passageway in order to reopen this entrance. This temporary scaffold tunnel will be in place until it can be assured that the hazard is mitigated.
Original announcement 2/02/23:
A piece of soffit has broken off and fallen on to the top step of the North entrance to Johnson Hall. There is a potential that other sections of this soffit may also drop. Safety and Risk Services and Campus Planning and Facilities Management are asking that all building users refrain from using the north entrance until further notice, except in case of emergency. CPFM will be working in the area to erect a scaffold tunnel to provide a safe entrance/exit for building users and visitors. Once this safeguard is in place, the building occupants will be notified and the entrance will be put back into service. Thank you for your understanding and support of this safety measure.
