2/23/24 Huestis Hall Sealant Application, Odor Advisory, and Exhaust Fan Shutdown

Scope:  Graffiti proof sealant will be applied to the exterior brick on Level 1/ground floor of Huestis Hall. The early morning hours were selected to decrease the amount of disruption to occupants during a typical work day. This notice is subject to rescheduling if weather conditions are unfavorable for installation.

Outage affecting Huestis basement: AHU 1 and 2 and lab exhaust fans will be offline during this work activity.

Advisory to Lokey Labs and Willamette Hall: Neighbors of Huestis Hall may experience odors due the sealant material.

All the ice is gone from the tower crane, so Hoffman will be removing barriers from Riverfront Parkway sometime this morning.  We’ll post another update when this is complete.

POSTPONED – Lot 2 Construction Activity and Access Advisory

Scope:  Construction associated with the replacement of the vehicle and pedestrian gates at the main entrance to the CPFM compound will begin November 13th.  This will result in intermittent closure of the main entrance while work is being performed in the roadway (asphalt cutting, excavation, installation of electrical lines, new fence panels, backfill, and resurfacing). Vehicle plates will be used to allow travel over open trenches when work is not actively being performed in the roadway.  The schedule remains fluid based on weather and contractor availability. Notification updates will be provided as the project progresses.

Services Impacted:

  • When access is restricted, vehicles should use the west entrance to the compound.
  • Caution is advised as vehicles will be traveling in both directions and the roadway narrows to one lane in some areas.

  • There will be frequent concrete truck traffic on Riverfront Parkway both northbound from Franklin Blvd. and southbound onto Franklin Blvd for the duration of the day.
  • Hoffman will have flaggers located along Riverfront Parkway to assist with traffic.
  • No roads will be closed.

9/21/23 – 9/22/23 Campus Move In Traffic and Parking Impacts Advisory

As the UO welcomes new resident students to campus, Transportation Services would like to make you aware of some upcoming traffic and parking impacts that are expected the week of September 18th. To help accommodate this large move-in process, we encourage parkers to avoid parking lots around the residence halls this week.

Traffic impacts related to street closures near residence halls on 9/21 and 9/22:

  • Agate Street and portions of 13th, 15th, and 17th Avenues will be restricted to Move-in traffic and vehicles on UO business.
  • All 13th Ave. traffic must enter from 13th Ave. and Franklin Blvd. and should expect delays.
  • Permit holders will be able to access UO lots but should expect delays.
  • 13th Ave. between University and Agate Streets will be restricted to westbound traffic only.
  • The 13th Ave. Garage will be open to permit holders.
  • Lots 29A, 29D, 33, 36A and 37 will be reserved for Move in.

Scope:  The University of Oregon is hosting the Prefontaine Classic at Hayward Field on Saturday, September 16th and Sunday, September 17th and attendance is expected to be robust.

Event impacts and related closures, as outlined below, will start on Monday, September 11th and continue through Monday, September 18th. Please anticipate an increase in traffic around campus and at the Millrace Garage during this time.

Scope:  EWEB will be setting a new power pole at the NE corner of the Millrace Studio 2 building.

Services Impacted:

  • Power will be off to Millrace 1, Millrace 2, Fine Arts C (Metalsmithing/Jewelry) & Woodshop during the shutdown hours.
  • EWEB set-up and tear-down work will occur before and after the shutdown hours.
  • Vehicle traffic north of the work area will be maintained but may have the possibility of minor interruptions.
  • Please note, Gallery way south of the work area is already shutdown via a separate & earlier notice.

Special Instructions:  Please shut down and unplug all multi-function copier devices as well as any printers during scheduled power outages. Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Riverfront Parkway southbound lane

Scope:  Riverfront Parkway’s southbound lane at Millrace Drive will be shut down to remove large drilling equipment from the Knight Campus 2 site.
