Willamette and Huestis 60 psi treated steam shutdown 8/16/19

On August 16, from 7 a.m.-4 p.m., the 60 psi treated steam will be shut down to Willamette Hall and Huestis Hall to replace leaking steam and condensate valves in the tunnel. This will not affect untreated steam.

CPFM Utilities and Energy will perform this work.

University Health, Counseling, and Testing Center HVAC Upgrades 8/12-16/19

During the week of August 12-16, the Health Center’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) automation system, or “controls,” will be restricted, while Facilities Services upgrades the existing system and connects it to the new addition. Although processes will be operational while enhancements are underway, the HVAC will not adjust as it does under normal operations until the work is complete.

During this time, system modifications can still be made for issues impacting operation. Should building occupants notice any issues or experience urgent HVAC problems, contact Jesse Porras at 541-346-2927 or Colin Brennan at 541-346-8242.

Rainier Water Fountains & Break-Room Sinks Out of Service 8/2/19

On Friday, August 2, 2019, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) will be staging and sampling drinking fountains in the Rainier Building for drinking-water monitoring. All drinking fountains and break-room sinks will be tagged and left idle from 9:30 AM until approximately 4:00 PM. Units will return to service after EHS has collected the samples.

Please do not use any tagged fixtures.

Klamath Hall Electrical-Panel Survey 8/2-30/19

From August 2-30, electricians from On Electric Group (OEG) will survey electrical panels throughout the building to collect data useful for upcoming infrastructure work and for coordinating and scheduling future shutdowns. Technicians will only be gathering information; no work will be done.

The electricians will wear identification and have a list of rooms not to enter without a scheduled escort.

Frohnmayer Music Building Roof Project 8/12-11/27/19

Update 11/18: This project is now complete.

Update 10/29: This project has been extended and is expected to be completed by November 27th.

Update 9/30: This project has been extended and is expected to be completed by October 31st.

 

From August 12 – September 30 October 31 November 27th, the southern portion of the Frohnmayer Music Building will be reroofed.

Building users can expect to hear normal and occasional construction noises, such as hammering and drilling. Occupants might also see the contractor or UO personnel enter/exit the building with tools and materials during normal business hours and as early as 6:30 a.m. We anticipate no further utility disruptions or shutoffs during this time, but should unexpected incidents occur, additional notices will be distributed.

This work involves demo, abatement, prep work, laying new roofing material, and installing safety features. The operation also will include a crane at the work site.

Anderson Roofing will perform the work; Rose City will handle any abatement issues.

Huestis Fire Sprinkler Work 8/12/19

On Monday, August 12, from 7 a.m.–3 p.m., work will be performed on the fire sprinkler system, with no impact to building occupants.

LCL will perform the work.

Horns, Strobes, and Speakers on the fire alarm system will not sound after the scheduled time. Provisions have been taken to monitor the building fire systems during this time. Any alarms that occur after the scheduled time should be considered real events, and occupants should evacuate as usual, per the U of O Emergency Procedures.

1600 Millrace Planned Electrical Shutdown 8/1/19

On Thursday, August 1, between 4:00 and 4:45 p.m., individual floors at 1600 Millrace will each lose power for approximately two minutes while electric meters are being changed.

Building occupants may want to shut down their computers at 4:00 p.m. until power is restored and the lights come back on.

The work is being performed by EWEB technicians.

Knight Campus Annex Planned Fire Sprinkler Shutdown 7/31/19

As part of the EWEB utility meter upgrade, the fire sprinkler at KC Annex will be shut down for approximately 10 minutes on Wednesday, July 31, at 10 a.m. Electricity and water (both domestic and industrial) will not be affected and will operate normally. The Environmental Health and Safety Fire Marshall Department is aware and will monitor the situation during the shutdown.

Onyx Bridge and Cascade Annex East Brief Power Loss 7/23/19

On Tuesday, July 23, locations in Onyx Bridge and Cascade Annex East experienced a brief loss of power. University electricians actively addressed the situation, and all power is now restored; in addition, the elevator technician has re-set the Onyx Bridge East elevator, which is now functioning normally.

Huestis Hall Fire Sprinkler Shutdown 7/24/19

On July 24th, from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, the Huestis Hall fire sprinkler system will be temporally shut down to the entire building in order to complete project activities for the room 225 remodel.

Provisions have been taken to monitor the building fire systems during this time; and any alarms that occur should be considered real events, and occupants should evacuate as usual per the U of O Emergency Procedures.

Physical Plant Warehouse and Shop HVAC System Shutdown 5/31/19 – 6/3/19; 6/7/19 – 6/10/19

On the following dates and times, portions of the HVAC system that affect the entire building may be shut down for painting purposes:

Klamath Hall Compressed-Air Outage 05/31/19

On Friday, May 31, 2019, from 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., compressed air at Klamath Hall will be turned off throughout the whole building for piping modifications on the third level as part of the renovation project.  Lease Crutcher Lewis (LCL) will perform the work and has arranged for temporary compressed-air sources to specific labs.

Baker Downtown Center – Chiller Down Temporarily, 5/7

One of the building chillers that provides cooling to the Baker Downtown Center is currently not operating and will be down for the next few days, primarily affecting Suite 110 and adjacent 1st-floor offices (see map below). Repairs are under way, and the crew will have cooling restored as soon as possible (later in the week). We apologize for any uncomfortable temperatures and conditions.
