1/29/25 – Unknown Frohnmayer Music Building Emergency AHU-1 Shutdown

UPDATE:  An electrical panel will be shutdown today 1/30/25 at 1:00 pm for 2 hours to replace a breaker for AHU-1.  The panel also serves AHU-2 which will shutdown heating to the following additional spaces for 2 hours. Rooms 105, 109, 118,120, 203, 205, 207, Vestibule V220, and Lobby L120.

Scope:  Due to a yet to be determined cause, a reset on the freeze stat for AHU-1 continues to cause an electrical breaker to trip.  As a result, that Air Handling Unit will be shutdown until the issue can be resolved.

Services Impacted:  All rooms on the first and second floors represented on the maps below are served by AHU-1 and can expect the heat to be affected by this shutdown.  An update will be sent out when the equipment is back online.

Scope:  The 100-year-old fan that feeds heated air into room 111 has failed and is unrepairable.  The fan is currently being removed to get measurements so that a replacement can be ordered or another solution can be devised.

Services Impacted:  There will be no direct heating to this room until a solution is put into place.

Services Impacted:  Room exhausts and fume hood exhausts in these rooms will be down for the entire day.

Special Instructions:  Fume hood sashes should be closed and containers within the fume hoods sealed before this date.

Scope:

  • As part of the pre-construction services for the Friendly Hall Project, the contractor will be conducting a 3D building scan of the interiors and exterior of the building, including roofs.
  • Interior scanning is planned for hallways on all floors and the interior of rooms 30, 403, 404, 405, 406, and 421.
  • Users of the building may notice small red and white targets set in various locations inside and outside of the building.
  • Exterior scanning will be weather dependent, but the current schedule is as follows:
    • Exterior scanning October 28 – October 29
    • Interior scanning October 30 – November 1

Special Instructions:  Please shut down and unplug all multi-function copier devices as well as any printers during scheduled power outages. Services Impacted:  The CPFM Custodial Services staff are responsible for manually locking and unlocking the non-AMAG proxy exterior building doors on the main academic campus.

Until Monday, September 23, 2024, all non-card access exterior doors will remain locked 24 hours a day.

AMAG proxy access to buildings will not be impacted.  AMAG doors will remain open during their regularly scheduled hours and accessible via the card reader system afterhours.

For building escort access/lockouts, please call Security Operations Center (SOC) at 541-346-2919.
