6/07/24 Huestis Hall Heating Water and Supply Air Shutdown

Scope:  The humidifier serving rooms 303 and 304 will be shut down to allow contractors to install a reheat coil.

Services Impacted:

  • To conduct this work, the building heating water will be offline and not provide heating supply to level 3.
  • Supply air to 303 and 304, only, will also be shut down.

5/19/24 Baker Downtown Center Electrical Shutdown

UPDATE:
In preparation for Sunday’s electrical outage, both elevators will be placed offline on Friday 5/17, at 4:30 pm, and returned to service on Monday 5/20, by 8:00 am.

If you have concerns about accessing your workplace when elevator services are impacted, please contact your supervisor to find an appropriate accommodation.

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Baker Downtown Center

Scope:  On Sunday, EWEB will be shutting off power between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm to upgrade the transformer that serves Baker Downtown Center before it fails.  EWEB has worked to accommodate the University’s need for a daytime weekend outage plus has coordinated this with the surrounding buildings also affected by the transformer.

Services Impacted:  Power will be offline for approximately 6 hours.

Special Instructions:  Please shut down and unplug all multi-function copier devices as well as any printers during scheduled power outages. The software on these machines can be negatively affected due to the power surge when the power is turned back on.  A power surge can corrupt the clone files in the machines and change preconfigured settings.  For questions, please contact Kati Kronholm at 541-346-5370 or katik@uoregon.edu.  For non-copier questions, please reach out to the contact person listed below.

Scope:  Necessary work on the building HVAC controls system will require all building HVAC systems to be offline for 12 hours.

Services Impacted:  This will affect all heating, cooling, exhaust systems, hot water, and fume hoods.

Special Instructions:  Fume hood sashes should be closed and containers within the fume hoods sealed prior to this date.

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Huestis Hall – levels 1, 2, and 3, plus suite 34 in the basement

Scope:  Supply and exhaust air will be offline Saturday and Sunday, May 4th and 5th to allow contractors to enlarge the exhaust air plenum connection in the penthouse. This should alleviate the high static pressure presenting as audible whistling in the building.

Services Impacted:

  • AHU-3, -4, & -5 will be offline.
  • Lab exhaust fans will still be operational to provide fume hood exhaust.

4/25/24 – 7/25/24 Lokey Education C (Bldg. 041) Emergency Heating Water Pump Shutdown

UPDATE 9/17/24:
Repairs have been completed and the system is ready and waiting for the steam to be turned back on to campus.
This will take place when the nighttime outside air temperature is below 50 degrees for five (5) consecutive nights AND the daytime temperature is below 70 degrees for five (5) consecutive days. Please plan accordingly for fluctuating daytime temperatures.

 

UPDATE 6/5/24:
Due to supply issues, the pump and parts have been delayed.  They are now expected to arrive in mid to late June.

 

REVISED LOCATION:
This shutdown is for Lokey Education C (Building #41) and not Education Annex as previously reported.  The ETA for the part is approximately one week out.

The work has been completed and the units are working fully now.

 

Begin:  Tuesday, April 23, 2024 – effective immediately

End:      Friday, April 26, 2024 – by end of day

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  McKenzie Hall

Scope:  The drives have failed on the supply air of AHU-6 and the return air of AHU-5.  Parts are on hand and repair work has already begun.  Both units are expected to be brought online by the end of the day on Friday, 4/26/24.  An update will be sent if services are restored earlier than 5:00 pm.

Services Impacted:  This will affect the heating and cooling on the northside of the building on floors 2 through 4.  There is still air flow, but the heating and cooling will be limited.  Impacts should be minimal and intermittent.

Scope:  Hayward Field is temporarily fed from Feeder #3, and we are transferring power back to Feeder #1.

Services Impacted:  This will impact electrical, elevators, the fire alarm system, and the HVAC air supply.

Special Instructions:  Please shut down and unplug all multi-function copier devices as well as any printers during scheduled power outages.
