Spring has sprung, and R Club is back!

Remember, R Club is meeting every week this term instead of biweekly. Our first meeting is 3:00-4:20 tomorrow, Tues 3/31, in Straub 008.

We’re hitting the ground running this term with our very first R Club consultation in week 1: Jenny Mendoza is about to launch a new study, and she wants help doing a power analysis for it to determine an appropriate sample size. Flash the bat signal!

Here are the details:

The study is called DwellTone. She’s already got a draft of a script for the power analysis, using the pwr package (manual, and a QuickR post), but she’s not sure if it’s working the way she intends it to, or if this is the best approach for her design. Jenny will be there to tell us more about the design and her intended analyses, and we’ll all work on writing code to do her power analyses during R Club. Given the nature of R (i.e. sprawly, organic, redundant, lovely), we’ll probably come up with a couple different solutions, and hopefully we’ll all learn and have fun in the process! And Jenny leaves with some beautiful new code. Smiles all ’round.

See you there!
