Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Centennial Hall, Mary Neils Hall, Elizabeth Hall, Weber Hall, 6441 NE 30th House, parking at NE 29th Ave. between Centennial and Holman Apts, and the East Hall’s elevator.

Scope:  Site preparation will begin for the new Child Behavioral Health Building.  Beginning Monday, 12/1, the fencing will be installed.  On the following Monday, 12/8, abatement will begin on all the structures within the fenced perimeter.  Demolition to follow abatement in Spring/ Summer of ’26. East Hall elevator to be without phone service throughout the duration. Contact facilities if you need to operate the elevator.  Updates will be sent out as the project progresses.  The Child Behavioral Health Building construction is expected to be complete in the Winter ’28/29.

Services Impacted:

  • No parking or pedestrian traffic within fencing perimeter.
  • Abatement activities mostly limited to the interior of buildings and should not affect noise levels in surrounding areas.
  • Vehicular / construction traffic to be expected.

Special Instructions:  Alternate parking is available in campus parking lots or any of the side streets, except for NE 28th Ave..

Scope:  Lane Council of Governments will be working to do some fiber optic splice documentation in communications vaults next to the railroad tracks.

Services Impacted:  They will have a vehicle in the area and will be working at each site for an hour or two.

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Central Kitchen, Traffic on E. 17th and Columbia St., Neighboring building traffic

Scope:  Public improvement project to install new manholes and extend public storm and sanitary lines to the Next Gen project site. Work will be completed in the south portion of the intersection of E. 17th and Columbia St., in Columbia St. between E. 17th and the north entrance of the Central Kitchen, and the north potion of the Central Kitchens parking/loading area.

Services Impacted:  Local traffic will be able to travel along E. 17th, but traffic will be limited and controlled while work in done in the intersection. During this period there will be a temporary closure to Columbia St. between E. 17th and the Central Kitchen.

Scope:  Underground utility work will require closure of parking areas and sidewalks for both locations.

Services Impacted:

  • A portion of the parking lot and sidewalk north of 1715 Franklin Blvd will be closed.
  • The service driveway for 1700 Millrace Dr. will experience a partial closure.
  • Both buildings will experience some occasional noise.

12/14/24 – 12/31/24 Agate Street Electrical Vault Work and Closure Advisory

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Agate Street (Northbound between E. 13th Ave. and E. 15th Ave.) and a portion of the adjacent east side of the sidewalk (in front of Cloran Hall), as shown in attachments.

Scope:  In order to place a new below grade electrical vault, to upgrade Campus infrastructure, the work requires a closure of the northbound lane of Agate St. between E. 13th Ave. and E. 15th Ave., with traffic being detoured east or west on E. 15th Ave.  The southbound lane, and the adjacent pedestrian sidewalk across Agate St., will be unaffected.  Thank you in advance for your understanding and support.

Services Impacted:

  • The closure will be in place throughout the project, and the new vault installation area on Agate St. will be fenced off as shown, for your protection.
  • The work is estimated to be performed during the listed duration, but could be extended as needed due to weather conditions – updates will be provided, if so.
  • Flaggers will be in place for traffic and pedestrian control during construction activities, for the entirety of the work. Signage will also be in place, at all times, to assist in delineating pedestrian and vehicle travel routes, until the project has been completed, and Agate St. (North) has been reopened.
  • Hamilton will be affected, especially the west side exit of Cloran Hall, as it will be blocked by construction fencing.

Scope: Hoffman will be excavating for a new utility tunnel between the Fine Arts C and Woodshop buildings.  This work will occur at night between 7:00 pm and 7:00 am in order not to impact classes in adjacent buildings.

Services Impacted: No services are expected to be impacted. This will create noise in the area.

North Campus – EWEB Utility Vault Removal Advisory 3/15/21 – 3/30/21

Building(s) or Area(s) Impacted:  North Campus (north of railroad tracks)

Scope:  EWEB, and their contractor, will be removing utility vaults at five locations between the railroad tracks and Willamette River.  Work includes installing erosion control measures, setting up asbestos containment, removing asbestos, demolition of vaults, and site repair.  The work is anticipated to be completed by the end of the month.

Services Impacted:  Access restrictions and construction noises can be expected.
