12/14/24 – 12/31/24 Agate Street Electrical Vault Work and Closure Advisory

Begin:  Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 7:00 am

End:      Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 6:00 pm

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  Agate Street (Northbound between E. 13th Ave. and E. 15th Ave.) and a portion of the adjacent east side of the sidewalk (in front of Cloran Hall), as shown in attachments.

Scope:  In order to place a new below grade electrical vault, to upgrade Campus infrastructure, the work requires a closure of the northbound lane of Agate St. between E. 13th Ave. and E. 15th Ave., with traffic being detoured east or west on E. 15th Ave.  The southbound lane, and the adjacent pedestrian sidewalk across Agate St., will be unaffected.  Thank you in advance for your understanding and support.

Services Impacted:

  • The closure will be in place throughout the project, and the new vault installation area on Agate St. will be fenced off as shown, for your protection.
  • The work is estimated to be performed during the listed duration, but could be extended as needed due to weather conditions – updates will be provided, if so.
  • Flaggers will be in place for traffic and pedestrian control during construction activities, for the entirety of the work. Signage will also be in place, at all times, to assist in delineating pedestrian and vehicle travel routes, until the project has been completed, and Agate St. (North) has been reopened.
  • Hamilton will be affected, especially the west side exit of Cloran Hall, as it will be blocked by construction fencing.
