Scope: Removal of two backflow assemblies that are not needed.

Services Impacted:

  • This will impact all domestic hot and cold fixtures, and all industrial hot and cold fixtures. This includes autoclave steam, fume hoods, sinks, restrooms, and drinking fountains.
  • RO will not be impacted.

Clean Steam Shutdown 5/1/20

UPDATE:  The shutdown has been adjusted to run from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm to allow time for a contractor to repair a separate steam leak.

End:      Friday, May 1st, 2020 at 12:00 noon 4:00 pm

Scope:  Emergency shutdown of the Autoclave Clean Steam in order to repair a compressed air leak on the Clean Steam Generator.

Services Impacted:  Clean steam will be unavailable, however treated steam will be provided during this time.

Annual Autoclave Steam Generator Preventative Maintenance 3/23/20 – 3/27/20

Begin:  Monday, March 23rd, 2020 at 8:00 am

End:      Friday, March 27th, 2020 at 8:00 am

Buildings Impacted:  Cascade Annex, Columbia Hall, Huestis Hall, Klamath Hall, Lewis Integrative Science Building (LISB), Onyx Bridge, Pacific Hall, Streisinger Hall, University Health, Counseling, and Testing Center, Volcanology, Willamette Hall, and ZIRC

Scope:  CPFM Utilities and Energy will be performing the annual preventative maintenance and an internal inspection of the autoclave steam generator March 23 – 27, 2019.

Services Impacted:  The autoclave steam heat exchanger will be shut down. Clean steam will be unavailable.

Extra Notes:  Chemical treated 60 psi steam will be cross connected and provided for the duration of the shutdown.

Onyx Bridge Water Shutdown 1/21/2020

Begin:  Tuesday, January 21st, 2020 at 7:00 am

End:      Tuesday, January 21st, 2020 at 3:00 pm

Building Impacted:  Onyx Bridge

Scope:  Repair is needed on domestic cold water line located in rooms 371/372 (see corroded pipe image below).

Services Impacted:  Building wide water shutdown affecting hot and cold water in restrooms, drinking fountains, autoclave steam, fume hoods, industrial hot and cold water.

Extra Notes:  RO/DI water will not be affected.

Klamath Hall Industrial Hot Water Shutdown 11/19/19

Update 11/19: The industrial hot water has been restored.

 

On Tuesday, November 19th from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, the industrial hot water will be shut down, affecting all industrial hot water lab faucets and autoclaves.  This will allow technicians to repair a leak on the top of an industrial water heater.  The domestic hot water will not be affected.

Work will be performed by the CPFM Plumbing Shop.

Huestis Hall Planned Industrial Water Shutdown 8/27/19

Backflow assembly repairs on Tuesday, August 27 from 8 – 10 a.m., will require shutting down all industrial water to lab sinks (including hot water), auto claves, cage washers, and flue hoods during this two-hour period. Domestic hot and cold water will operate normally throughout the building, so building occupants will not be impacted.

CPFM plumbers will perform this work.

Klamath Hall Clean Steam Shutdown 5/16 – 5/17

Facilities Liaisons,

As part of the third-floor renovation project, the clean steam that services the building autoclaves will be temporarily shut down overnight starting May 16 at 5 pm with a restore of 5 am on May 17. This is necessary to modify (reroute and cap) the steam pipes on the third floor. Work will be performed by Lease Crutcher Lewis.

2/21 – 2/23: [HUESTIS, KLAMATH, LISB, ONYX, STRESINGER & ZIRC] Clean Steam Outage

This notice has been sent to all building users in Huestis, Klamath, LISB, Onyx, Streisinger, Pacific, UHCC & ZIRC.

Building Users,

Due to an NW Gas usage data collection project for possible energy incentive, the autoclave heat exchanger that serves the buildings below will be temporarily shut down February 21, 2018, starting at 6:00 am ending February 23, 2018, at 9:00 am.  CPFM Utilities and Energy have 60# back up steam available.

This will impact:  Huestis, Klamath, LISB, Onyx, Streisinger & ZIRC.

 This will not impact Pacific and UHCC as originally stated in previous message.

3/26/18-3/27/18: Advanced Notice Planning Clean Steam Shutdown Huestis, Klamath, LISB, Onyx, Pacific, Streisinger, UHCC, & ZIRC

Building Occupants,

Utilities and Energy need to perform required maintenance on the boiler that provides clean steam for the autoclaves and cage washers located in Streisinger, Klamath, Pacific,  ZIRC, LISB, Huestis, Onyx, and University Health Counseling and Testing Center.  They are proposing to start March 26th at 7:00 am and end on March 27th at 5:00 pm.

If preferred, 60# treated steam is available.  Please send Mo a request to let him know you need this.

8/24/17: University Health & Hamilton Hall 60 lb. Steam Shutdown

Building Occupants,

On Thursday, August 24th from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, University Health and Hamilton Hall’s small 60 lb. steam will be shut down.

This will affect kitchen and autoclave steam, but not the residential portion of Hamilton.

Work will be performed by a contractor.

8/4/17: University Health Center Steam Shutdown

Building Occupants,

On Friday, August 4th, from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, all steam to the University Health Center building will be shut down.  This is due to asbestos abatement in the underground tunnels adjacent to the Health Center.

This will affect autoclave steam, heating, and steam condensate.

5/24/17: Onyx Bridge Annual Maintenance of Building Mechanical Equipment

Building Occupants,

On Wednesday, May 24th, from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, annual maintenance of building mechanical equipment will take place in Onyx Bridge.  Systems affected will be the exhaust and fume hoods.

–          Between the hours of 8:00 am to 11:30 am, fume hood and general exhaust will be affected.  Please keep fume hood sashes closed.

–          Between the hours of 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm, building supply air will be affected.  Please keep lab doors open during this time.

Work will be performed by CPFM’s Facilities Services.
