8/17/22 Willamette Hall, LISB, Klamath Hall, Lokey Labs – End of Line Flow Control Valve Installation

Scope:

  • As part of the process chilled water project in Willamette there are five locations that are getting end of line flow control valves installed
  • Initial assessment and measurement requiring 20 minutes in each location
  • Installation of bypass piping requiring 20 minutes in each location
  • Fabrication of bypass piping will take place outside, no soldering will occur inside the buildings

Services Impacted:  Each of these locations already have isolation valves from previous projects so no shutdowns are required and no impacts to the system will occur

7/8/22 Gerlinger Hall Water Meter Replacement Notice

Building(s) or Area(s) Affected:  South East Gerlinger parking strip. The flow meter will be tested after install. Water from testing will be directed to the street gutter and is not a concern.

Scope:  Due to a failed water meter, EWEB will be replacing the meter for Gerlinger Hall early Friday morning. There will not be any water outage. The meter bypass water pipeline will be active during the work.

Services Impacted:  There will be little to no impact to campus.

Due to unusually cold weather and negative impacts to critical research, the steam shutdown and condensate pump repairs are postponed.

The restrooms are to remain shut down until further notice. The issue is ongoing, there is no known time when they will be reopened.

8/9/22 – 10/31/22 CPFM Back Forty Area Access Advisory

  • Although the shotcrete and pre-stressing activities have ended work within and around the Thermal Energy Storage Tank Project Area continues
  • Travel paths through the area should be avoided until completion of the overall project work

Area Impacted:  CPFM Back Forty Area to the West of Utilities and Energy

Scope:  Beginning the week of 5/23/22 there will be intermittent shotcrete applications as well as significant pre-tensioning activities in the Back Forty area.

Services Impacted:

  • During shotcrete applications no parking will be allowed along the perimeter surrounding the central plant on the south, north or west sides (see attached picture).
  • During the pre-tensioning work parking and transit will remain closed on the Central Plants west side, and no workers or transit will be allowed within the work area (see attached picture) due to high level safety concerns.
  • The project team is communicating with affected work groups towards enabling work to continue with as limited interruption as possible.

Additional Notes: Additional notices/schedules will be posted prior to the start of these activities, but please keep this upcoming work in mind for your future planning.

5/12/22 – 5/25/22 ZIRC Chilled Water, Treated Steam, and Untreated Steam Shutdown

UPDATE 5/20: Additional shutdowns will be required. Times and dates are still being reviewed by all that will be involved. Activities will be completed next week on Monday 5/23 and/or Wednesday 5/25. The project team will communicate with building users once times are confirmed.

Scope:  Utility meter installation will require that we shut down the chilled water, treated steam, and untreated steam to the building.

  • The chilled water and treated steam will be restored same day on the 12th.
  • The untreated steam to the building will be off until May 19th to allow time to complete work associated with that system.

Scope:  We will be closing part of the service drive to the east of LLC to finish civil work related to the replacement of Walton Hall.  Service to the buildings during this time will be from the north, and pedestrians routed to the north and south.
