ZIRC Non-Potable Hot Water Shutdown 10/13/20

UPDATE:

The non-potable hot water has been restored.

 

Begin:  Tuesday, October 13th, 2020 at 8:30 am

End:      Tuesday, October 13th, 2020 at 12:00 noon

Building(s) or Area(s) Impacted:  Zebrafish International Resource Center

Scope:  Repair to non-potable hot water backflow assembly located in Mechanical Room #120.

Services Impacted:

  • This is expected to affect the cage washer.
  • Domestic hot and cold water will not be affected, and all other services will be operational during the repair.

PLC Water Intrusion on Sixth Floor

UPDATE 10/1/20:

Crews will be working on the 5th and 6th floors.  There will be noise and congestion in the work areas as this issue is addressed.

 

Wednesday, September 30th, a water intrusion has been identified in PLC, affecting the sixth floor. Water containment and clean up response actions have started, and EH&S will evaluate for building impacts this morning. Mitigation will be taking place in the coming days to dry affected building finishes. Mitigation will be managed by EH&S and CPFM. Please direct all questions to CPFM Work Control at 541.346.2319.

 

The water intrusion was caused by a malfunctioning drinking fountain in the South portion of hallway 601 near the elevators. Occupants of affected spaces should catalog any damaged items and report them to Risk Management. Further information about this process can be found at: https://safety.uoregon.edu/property-claims.

Millrace Bike Path/Walkway Closure Notice 10/5/20 – 10/10/20

Begin:  Monday, October 5th, 2020

End:      Saturday, October 10th, 2020

Building(s) or Area(s) Impacted:  Pathway along the north side of the Millrace between Gallery Walk and Riverfront Parkway

Scope:  The Millrace pathway will be closed to all pedestrian and bike traffic for one (1) week. Grade work and paving to tie-in the pathway to the Knight Campus bridges over the Millrace will be taking place during this closure.

Services Impacted:  Gallery Walk will remain open to the north of the pathway, and the detour route will be the gravel road north of the Urban Farm, behind the Fine Arts Studios.

Huestis, Ford Alumni, ZIRC, and Knight Library Building Air Shutdown 10/5/20 – 10/9/20

UPDATE 10/6/20:
Ford Alumni has been rescheduled for next Monday 10/12, and the Knight Library has been rescheduled for next Wednesday 10/14 and Friday 10/16.

UPDATE:  Huestis work will be performed on Monday, October 5th, and ZIRC will be on Friday, October 9th.

Building Impacted (during the week of Oct. 5th):  Huestis Hall, Ford Alumni, ZIRC, and Knight Library

Scope:  Facilities Services is currently responding to the impacts of the recent fire/smoke event.  As a result, all building air handling systems will be taken off-line, cleaned and all filters replaced.

Begin:  Monday, October 5th, 2020 at 8:00 am

End:      Friday, October 9th, 2020 at 3:00 pm

Services Impacted:  This will affect the building’s cooling, cooling tower, heating, and HVAC air supply.

Onyx Bridge 486 Mold/ACM Remediation

Begin:  Thursday, October 1st, 2020 at 7:00am

Building or Area Impacted:  Onyx Bridge 486

Scope:  Environmental Health & Safety will be supervising subcontractors Servpro and All Aspects Environmental in the performance of mold remediation and removal of ACM pipe insulation in Onyx Bridge Room 486.

Services Impacted:  Equipment in the 4th floor hallway, masking and safety containment barriers at the door to room 486.
