COVID19 Signage Removal Instructions as of 3/19/22

Dear Campus Partners:

In response to the mask updates at the UO, please review the following COVID19 Sign Removal Instructions.

Mask Update at the UO: Based on guidance from local public health authorities, starting March 19 masks will be welcome but optional in most places at the UO.

  • Masks are still required indoors on campus through March 18.
  • When masks become optional in most places, they will continue to be required in health care settings, including University Health Services and Monitoring and Assessment Program (MAP) testing sites.
  • This decision does not impact other COVID-19 regulations. The UO continues to require vaccines, offer testing, and provide masks and other resources.

Read the full announcement including a list of personal preventative strategies and university-provided resources here.

Signage removal (in areas that are not identified as health care settings):

On March 19, 2022 (or after), please remove any signage related to COVID19 including:

  • Physical distancing
  • Required mask wearing
  • Reporting COVID safety concerns
  • Signage that is related to isolation or quarantine. (Some “stay home if you feel sick” signs might have this information included. If so, please remove.)
  • Any signage that includes outdated information re: COVID19 and UO policies.
  • OSHA signs with COVID19 related information. For example:

Signage that encourages healthy handwashing tips can remain in place, if desired.

 Masks Required Indoors A-frames:

CPFM will be collecting Masks Required Indoors A-frames and redeploying to healthcare facilities by request.

Digital Signage:

Digital signage will no longer be available for download on the COVID19 website as of March 19, 2022.

Note: Central Signage re: COVID19 will no longer be provided as of March 19, 2022. Please do not create signage that does not align with the current UO regulations. It is important the university apply the UO COVID-19 regulation uniformly to maintain consistency and equity across campus.

Updated OSHA Rule Regarding Indoor Mask Requirement Signage 8/17/21

Oregon OSHA has implemented a new rule, effective immediately, that requires indoor mask requirement signage to be posted on all entry doors to workplace buildings. Please check the doors of your building to see if there are signs reminding folks that masks are required indoors. If signs need to be posted, please use the attached PDF to print out signage and display on every exterior door of your building that is intended to be used for entry (ie: keyed or card swipe). Postings are not required on exterior doors that are egress-only.

Updated Face Covering Signage & Removal Instructions 7/30/21

As the most recent campus communication states, face coverings will be required indoors again and will be effective Friday, 7/30/21 (tomorrow). IMT has ordered and coordinated the appropriate signage to be deployed to campus bathrooms, and to the A-frames that are sprinkled throughout campus building entrances.

The A-frame posters will not come in until mid-next week. In the interim, facility liaisons and building managers are more than welcome to print off the attached sign and post to their high traffic entry doors, beginning Friday, 7/30/21. Once the A-frame posters are installed, these interim signs can either remain on entry doors, or be removed at the discretion of the facility manager. (Considering multiple entrances, and decreasing overall signage clutter)

COVID-related signage removal:

If signage removal has not occurred in your building or if another round of signage removal is necessary for your space, I’ve attached detailed instructions on removal of other COVID-related signage for facility liaisons and building managers. At this point, purging outdated signage is necessary, but some signage needs to remain in place. Please read the attached removal instructions carefully.

Thank you for your partnership and work towards keeping campus safe. Your flexibility is appreciated. Please reach out if you have questions.

COVID Signage Advisory 7/1/21

With the change in state guidance this week, UO is no longer subject to the physical distancing and “closed to the public” guidance that has been in place since March 2020. Any signage referencing these things can be removed at this point. We’d like to ask your help in removing any of these signs. I’ve attached images of the signs that can come down. Please note that even though the door signs with color codes about building status reference closed to the public, we are going to leave those in place through summer. Please contact Krista Dillon if you have any questions. kristam@uoregon.edu
