3/27/23 – 9/11/23 Prince Lucien Campbell ‘Heritage Project’ Surge Work Advisory

UPDATE 8/31/23:
Prior to completion of our classroom upgrade projects in rooms 72 and 184, our contractors need to perform some audible fire alarm testing. There will be a pre-test on September 5th between 6am and 8am, and a city fire alarm inspection on September 11th between 6am-8am. Both days may involve both audible alarms and lighted strobes during the specified times.

Horns, Strobes, and Speakers on the fire alarm system will not sound after the scheduled time. Provisions have been taken to monitor the building fire systems during this time and alarms that occur after the scheduled time should be considered real events and occupants should evacuate as usual per the U of O Emergency Procedures.

If there are questions regarding emergency evacuation, please visit Emergency Management & Continuity, https://safety.uoregon.edu/evacuations

UPDATE 8/25/23:
Due to electrical conduit installation in room 72, there will some loud actively in an around that space. Anchors will be set into existing concrete ceiling, using powder actuated fasteners. This sounds similar to a fire cracker when discharged. Ongoing work this Friday 8/25 through Tuesday 8/29.

UPDATE 8/01/23:
For new ceiling grid installation, seismic cabling will need to be installed into the concrete ceiling in room 72.  This will include powder actuated fasteners.  This work is quite loud and can sound like a firecracker.  We anticipate this noise to continue (off and on) between Thursday, August 3rd, and Wednesday, August 9th, which will affect the surrounding rooms, especially room 175.

UPDATE 7/21/23:
Due to ongoing construction for the Heritage Surge projects, there will be activities with elevated noise levels in room 72 on July 24th and 25th, affecting the surrounding areas.  Additionally, the remodel completion date has been revised to the end of August.

UPDATE 4/24/23:
This is short notice, but I have been notified that our contractor has some concrete drilling to perform tomorrow, Tuesday 4/25, in room 72.  Drilling will create noise in adjacent spaces between 6:00 am and 12:00 noon.
