UPDATE 9/01/23:
Start time for the September 7th fire panel test will be 7:00 am with expected completion by 8:00 am. Alarm sound will be intermittent during this period of time.
UPDATE 8/28/23:
The end date has been extended to September 15th to complete a few required activities, including a fire panel test.
The fire panel test will take place on September 7th. Fire panel sounders will be set off causing loud noise for a short period of time.
Horns, Strobes, and Speakers on the fire alarm system will not sound after the scheduled time. Provisions have been taken to monitor the building fire systems during this time and alarms that occur after the scheduled time should be considered real events and occupants should evacuate as usual per the U of O Emergency Procedures.

UPDATE 7/21/23:
Expect construction noise on July 24th and 25th that is louder than is typically heard. Additionally, remodel completion date has been revised with expectation of completion on August 11th.
UPDATE 6/09/23:
On Monday, June 26th, from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, network cabling will be pulled and rerouted for this project.
This will impact rooms 101, 101A, 201, 214, and 215.
Work will be performed by UO Information Services, GBC Construction, and New Way Electric.

End: July 15, August 11, Friday, September 1 15, 2023, at 5:00 pm
Building(s) or Area(s) Affected: McKenzie Hall rooms 101, 101A, plus adjacent rooms & hallways
Scope: As part of the Heritage Project “Surge” effort, rooms 101 and 101A will be renovated between 3/27 and 7/15. We will provide additional project updates that may be useful to building occupants, as we schedule construction activities.
Services Impacted:
- There will be general construction noise and odor throughout the construction duration, but our team will target the most intrusive or loud activities for times less likely to disrupt daily scheduled events.
- The bulk of the demolition work is scheduled for Spring Break.
- This will affect different systems at different times in these areas, including heating, electrical, fire alarm system, and HVAC air supply.
