Scope:  Power will shut off to the East Residence Hall to allow Pacific Power to install a protective device on the power pole to help prevent electrocution of birds and small animals.

Services Impacted:  There will be no power in the building, so computers and wireless connections will not be functioning, nor will elevators and portable air conditioners that serve the few occupied offices in the East Residence Hall.

Special Instructions:  If you have concerns about accessing your workplace when elevator services are impacted, please contact your supervisor to find an appropriate accommodation.

Special Instructions:  Please shut down and unplug all multi-function copier devices as well as any printers during scheduled power outages. Contractor to install PVC branch tees which will require assistance of facilities staff for isolation and venting, a partial drain-down of the system, and an estimated downtime of 8-10 hours to perform the work and allow for glue cure time.

The contractor was not able to perform this shutdown as scheduled.  Another notice will be sent out when a new date for the work is determined.

Scope:  An electrical shutdown will happen while L.R. Brabham Electric replaces two (2) compromised circuit breakers and inspects the electrical equipment that was impacted by the Pacific chilled water incident in May 2024.  All normal power supply to the listed areas will be offline. This will not affect the “Stand-By” power buildings.

Services Impacted:  This will be an interruption of the “Normal” power supply to Pacific Hall and Columbia Hall, as well as the normal power supply to the Cascade Annex Science Stores area. This may affect some area lighting as well as general use receptacles and the elevators. It will also impact HVAC and exhaust systems in the buildings, and fume hoods.

Special Instructions #1:  Fume hood sashes should be closed and containers within the fume hoods sealed before this date.

Special Instructions #2:  If you have concerns about accessing your workplace when elevator services are impacted, please contact your supervisor to find an appropriate accommodation.
