Progress So Far:

So for I am right on schedule with my original timeline. This past week I added a new task to my goals list as I got to experiement with some scanning apps. So far I have:

• read some articles about 3D printing and its use in museums
• downloaded and learned how to design in Fusion 360
• Designed, printed, redesigned, and reprinted an object of my own design
• used a digitizer to scan in objects
• used a iPad app to scan in objects

Learning Goals Progress:

So far I have accomplished almost all of my goals, and am on the way to accomplish the others:

• Learn how to use various 3D design software in relationship to 3D printing.
• Print objects of my design, and replicated from museum collections
• Have an understanding of how 3D printing can be used in museum education

The last goal I hope to expand upon as I continue to work with scanning with the iPad to work with museum objects.

Updated Timeline:

Week 5: Work with iPad scanning, and reprint spinner

Week 6: See if I can use iPad scanner at JSMA, or with the objects for my AAD 510 class, import week 5 scans into fusion and play with them

Week 7: Work more with iPad scanner and museum objects

Week 8: Print a scanned object from the museum

Week 9: Work more with iPad scanner OR design a new project

Week 10: print museum object OR other design project.
