This course was an overview of the relationship of the arts and culture to community development. Settings, constituencies, philosophical approaches, methodologies, planning and funding of arts and cultural programs. We focused heavily on developing practical strategies for community cultural development and focused on making a difference in communities. We were lucky enough to work with the Sustainable Cities Initiative in creating a cultural inventory for the city of Albany, Oregon. Our final presentation is attached below.
