North Campus (North of Railroad Tracks) Pothole Work Advisory 11/4/20

Scope:  EWEB will be potholing in the area immediately north of the railroad tracks – see map. The work is locate an abandoned steam line.

Services Impacted: No services or access will be effected.

Friendly Hall Steam Shutdown 11/6/20 & 11/18

UPDATE 11/13: Steam system follow-up work is required to move steam condensate piping in the basement. Work to take place on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from 7:00am to 9:00am. The building steam heat will be offline during this period.

Campus Wide Soap Dispenser Installations 11/9/20 – 12/4/20 & 1/11/21 – completion

1/08/2021 UPDATE:

Due to issues in the supply chain and acquiring product, this project was postponed and is now ready to begin again the week of January 11th , 2021.

Building(s) or Area(s) Impacted:  Campus Wide Academic Buildings

Scope:  The manufacturer is discontinuing our current soap refills, so we are transitioning to a different soap dispenser across the academic campus. Since this transition is manufacturer caused, they are providing the contractor to do the install at no cost to the university.

Services Impacted:  Temporary access to soap dispensers in restrooms, labs, teachings spaces, and kitchenettes.

Extra Notes:  Each install will only take a few minutes but there are thousands across campus.

Friendly Hall Electrical Shutdown 11/16/20 – 11/17/20

Begin:  Monday, November 16th, 2020 – daily 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

End:      Tuesday, November 17th, 2020 – daily 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Building(s) or Area(s) Impacted:  Friendly Hall – see below for specific locations affected.

  • Panel K: Entire basement.
  • Panel D (and sub-panels D1 & D2): Rooms 108, 019, 111, 112, 114, 116, 216, 217, 220, 221, 222. 223, 224, (potentially 215, 225, 226, 227), 308, 312, 313, 315, 316, 318, 319, 324, 325.
  • Panel EM1: Hallway & exit lights on all levels, and outside lights.

Scope:  Relocation of feeder conduits passing through the new elevator shaft, and adding new feeders into electrical panels D, K, and EM1. The work should be able to be completed in one day, but the contractor would like two days for contingency.

Services Impacted:  The contractor will only de-energize one panel at a time – so power in each area noted will not be down an entire day – and they assure power will be restored in all impacted areas by days end.

Special Instructions:  Please shut down all multi-function copier devices as well as any printers during scheduled power outages. The software on these machines can be negatively affected due to the power surge when power is turned back on, a power surge can corrupt the clone files in the machines, and can change preconfigured settings.
