Teaching Fundamentals via Zoom

I know many people have been struggling teaching online this past year. There are certainly great challenges, but I must say my experience has been generally quite gratifying, thanks to my hard working students. My large freshman class has made significant progress at the level that is equally (if not more) impressive than normal times.
My 1-hour Zoom lesson closely models after what I would normally do in person: 1/3 fundamentals, 1/3 etudes and 1/3 repertoire. Here is a video example of the first part from lesson I had with Taylor, our freshman general music major, this week. Most of the materials were introduced to her on that day for the first time, but she picked things up exceptionally well. Feel free to play along with the video! It features chromatic scale/arpeggio warm-up, my own daily articulation set, and Jean Jean’s Vade Macum!
