People often call Portland “ city of river”, from which we can see the importance of Willamette River, it shows the history from its own eco-system, the salmons and other species that mean l lot for people’s life. Thus, South Waterfront is a good site next to this great river, where we can set up a space for citizens and professional stuffs to learn, relax and communicate. For this project, I will try to combine landscape and building blocks, on one hand provide a gathering space for citizens to exercise, eat, and relax, at the same time, they can learn the history of Willamette by lectures held regularly, know more about the species by joining the raising and planting activities. By doing this, they will also have chance eating products that raised or planted themselves. For professional students and professors, they can get out of school and have a closer contact with Willamette, they will do labs and studies here, taking notes and making analysis of the growing process of species.[embeddoc url=”https://blogs.uoregon.edu/arch586s16cheng/files/2015/11/program-1-1rnoiol.pdf” download=”all” viewer=”google”]program 1
