in 2nd degree there is a need to define the overlapped area – it is not simply an overlap of program, it too needs definition even if it’s flexible one. I would instead switch 2nd and 3rd since the degree of complexity in 3rd can be the difference in scale of program exclusively. Then for the actual 3rd degree could be the organization – spatial arrangement. Pay attention to whether the overlapped area is solid color or transparent (i.e a third color) as this will inform the nature of the space. Try out more arrangement with different organizational logic – it does not alway have to follow pragmatic reality, but oppotunity to explore otherwise.
