The concept of two fields taking on roles as grids yet having various separate individual points focused on stressors of the grid, creating peaks, low points, and valleys, For example, Japan used to design and grow horizontally creating sprawl while now the skyscraper has changed the approach to vertically. Showing that maybe there should be more fluidity in the design process.

The concept of this passage is that flocks are natural phenomenons guided by their own set of rules, Constantly changing in variations never-repeating perhaps similar but never the same, tending to start from the bottom up displaying how the circulation of a building matters, in correlation to space, should be fluid enough for those that occupy the space while supporting their activities.
1. yes it’s the rule that organize the unit. Good diagram- could push the idea of the uniqueness of unit by tweaking the unit but keep the rule the same. You drew all the unit exactly the same, which does not fully communicate the idea of the preservation of uniqueness of the unit within a system. — your 5th drawing should be for the first quote.
2. not sure what is being communicated here but the idea of the algebraic way is again about the system – it is the function which you can throw in the units to see different outcome.
3. yes because cubism exhausted itself trying to create new object, and minimalist art is more about the system. You can tape a flower, a bread, or a dog to the wall instead of a banana and the meaning of the “comedian” will change entirely. But this action of taping to the vertical surface of an object is the rule. That’s how memes function 🙂 — drawing wise not very sure I think you are trying represent the object rather than diagraming the system – essential/structural idea.
4. If the logic or system goes from expanding to the next space if there isn’t enough space —> to move more vertical if there isn’t enough space to accomdate the amount of program. The valley is thus generated by a series of the different height of each vertical building. — drawing is still trying to be representative rather diagraming the system.
5. Yes, and again the example is precisely about the emphasis of the rule or system which affect how the unit behave to form a pattern or object at the end. the object and the unit are less important than the rule.
